Patchwork Tag

Yesterday whilst most of our Twitter pals were at the fab craft show Ally Pally, Steve & Darcy were sharing their journal pages.  I asked if they minded if I had a go and they said they hadn't invented it, they had watched Dyan do it here on this video. I coloured the tag with eco-line inks.

I followed what Dyan had said and used the black Ranger distress paint, but I found that it was way too thin, you can still see the blue dots in the background, and also it smudged extremely easily, namely the left side of the face and arm.

So I went back in with little black dress freso paint which gives much better coverage.  I painted the face and left arm in snowflake and went back over it again with adirondack pens as the eco-line ink just sat on the top.  I re-did the right hand side edge too and added some different script.

PanPastelUK have an anything goes theme this week. Can't wait to get my hands on some of those new metallics!!!

SimonSaysWednesday Challenge would like to see something on the project that they sell in their store.  They sell both the fresco and the distress paints and the Crafters Workshop stencil.

CountryViewCrafts have a theme of layers for this month.

Our Creative Corner have a theme of forgotten things this month, and my eco-line inks have definitely been forgotten. Forgot how bright they are, how quick they dry and what great coverage they give.

Well done you, this looks like you had loads of fun yesterday - and I agree about the paint coverage with the Fresco paint. Looks gorgeous.

I loved Dyan's video of this & I think your tag is fantastic. Not surprised that you had to use Little Black Dress.

Not used many paints in my time but am finding Fresco paints so easy to use. Makes me want to use them on every project.

What a fab funky tag, Sam - I know nothing about eco-line inks (is this craft stash thing never-ending?!?)... Thanks so much for playing along with us at Our Creative Corner.

(Seeing you in the photos Helen has - already! - posted from this weekend suddenly made me realise that I think your feed has been missing from my dashboard (seems to have happened with a few that I follow) - so I must have some catching up to do.)
