Lace or Fabric - Stampotique

This is my last week of being on the Stampotique guest designers team and the theme set by France is Lace or Fabric.

Using an mdf man tag I coloured the background with vanilla, beach hut and south pacific fresco paints.   Background is stamped in various Stampotique images, hanging hearts, splatters and journey collage with black stazon.  The window frame is coloured with willow, lemonade and citrus alcohol inks, along with the flower head.  The background was stamped with Daniel's hearts and coloured with adirondack pens and pan pastels.  The flower stem is coloured with south pacific and stamped randomly with Carol's small flower.  Linda's head has been stamped onto the flower head.

Lace has been cut in the butterfly movers and shapers die and attached to a piece of chipboard cut in the same shape.  I trimmed the window sill and the flower head with lace too!!

Happy Birthday Card

Over at the PA blog Alison has been clear embossing Fresco paint and over at Stampotique this week, they are asking to see a new technique. Now although embossing isn't new to me, it is using it over a paint.

Close up of the embossed diamonds using pansy fresco through the stencil.  Love how it came out because it's pitted.

I added some script in seedless preserve distress ink, blasted it with the heat gun and then gave it a wash of watered down mushroom.

As I'd put a bit too much on in the top right hand corner I need to break it up, so stamped the happy birthday in seedless preserve onto a plain white heart.

The Stampotique image is one I coloured in a while ago whilst experimenting with the distress markers.

Full of Inspiration

So carrying on with the colour combo Emma challenged me with, I decided to make another again incorporating all the set criteria, but I also took inspiration from some of this weeks projects on the PA blog, Helen Chilton with her heart, Leandra with the flower video and Lin Brown with the grunge paste on the arch and main background.  So lots and lots of inspiration used on this piece!!

Another Emma Challenge

Emma chose this colour pallet for us to work with for this challenge, but I set the criteria, which was to incorporate a bird, a flower, an arch and some lace.

So I chose the largest of my mdf plaques and used the back so I didn't have the bevelled edges to contend with.  I used a mix of fresco paints, elephant, sky, ice blue, French roast, eggplant and pansy. Distress inks, stains and paints in seedless preserve, weathered wood and iced spruce.  I used a number of die cut shapes, a diamond stencil and some TH tissue tape.  All images are PA.

Hearts with Helen Chilton

Helen Chilton has joined in the PA birthday celebrations as you can see here.  I pretty much followed what she did, except I forgot the GP and by the time I'd remembered I'd already stuck the chipboard heart on the other side, so it was too unstable to add it, so I've left it naked!!!

And this is the other side with the crackle and the Sizzix primitive heart chipboard die shape.

Die & Cricut Cutting!!!

I decided to spend my bank holiday morning cutting shapes using dies and the Cricut from chipboard and white card.  I also found my PA grunge flower 2 & 3 dies which I cut from metal card (bottom right).

As I don't have any flower stamps I had to make my own design using a white posca pen.

Then I remembered I'd recently bought some coloured posca pens. I used the yellow, red and blue.

And again using Lins' techniques as seen here over on the PA blog I created this.

I'm also linking up to Altered Eclectics as they have a theme of anything goes - mixed media.

Holiday Pages

I've been chipping away at making some scrapbook pages from our recent holiday photos.  As you will see they are just plain and simple as I like the main focus to be the actual photos.

So I thought I'd share a few of them with you.

Added to this background is white dylusions spray ink and T!m's trees stamped in fresco snowflake paint.

I used stickers and lift passes picked up from the resort.

I also had a play with my under used Cricut machine yesterday, cutting words and images to add to the pages.

And finally, the last couple.

A serviette sporting the resort name and some Cricut images.

Lotstodo Swaps - Alphabet Arches

Hilda, over on Lotstodo is hosting lots of swaps at the moment. This one is for 3 Arches which had to include at least one letter of the alphabet. I have no idea why, but I chose 'A', 'F' and 'H'. Each one is complimented with one of Sir T!m's die shapes.

Lotstodo - Create a piece using a machine

Hilda over on Lotstodo is hosting a board book swap (decorated children's hard back book). I chose the theme and I chose 'blue' because I wanted to challenge myself and move out of my comfort zone. Challenge myself I did!!!!!

The letters are made from the swirls grungeboard and were cut on the Cricut machine.

Christmas Hangers & Little Books

One of the Christmas style gifts I made for this year were some little hangers. They were made from different shapes of nesties and mounted on top of each other

I also made some little books from the large labels set that I have. Here are a taster of some of the pages

Hope everyone who received something liked theirs

T!m's day 10 tag - my version

This is my day 10 tag from T!m's inspiration. I used my cricut and big shot machines to cut letters, numbers and shapes from thick card. Silly me used dst to stick them down so that showed through the sticky foil tape, but I actually quite like the effect!!! Don't have any of the adirondak pens either, so used alcohol inks and masked sections off. The colours are actually brighter IRL.

Lotstodo Challenge - Cities or Places

Remember my altered book that I started ages ago, well I've finally finished it. The hardest part was thinking of theme, once that was sorted it was plain sailing.

Ellen kindly sent me some plastic slide mounts so I covered 12 of them with sticky silver aliminium tape, printed out a suitable image which was personal to me about that particular place and then using a strip of metal and a set of alphabet letters, I hammered the name of the place into the metal. I covered it in copper acrylic dabber paint and sanded it down when dry.

For the insides I did double spreads of various places, such as London, Paris, Rome and on the back pages I cut a section out and added various images from around the world.

The back cover I covered with crumpled tissue paper and then used black acrylic dabber paint to colour it. I stuck silver gaffa tape around all of the edges, front, back and spine and added the words, travel, places and cities in grunge board using my Cricut machine. I painted these silver, sanded them back and added gold rub n buff. The travel on the front cover was done in the same way except I outlined the letters in black too.
