Wings and Things

Over at A Vintage Journey they have a theme of wings and things.

Over on Amandas blog she'd made an ATB but cut some heart shapes out the sides to make a light box which you can see here. I, with permission, pinched her idea and using the butterfly movers and shapers die cut the shapes out of opposites sides of the ATB.

I covered the cut out shapes with T!m's tissue wrap, and stamped some images in stazon.

Also added stamping to the other two sides.

I used one of the die cut shapes on the lid and added a mini safety pin for the body. I stamped the bee from the TH set onto the same gelli print page and cut it out as over at Fashionable Stamping, they have a theme of birds and bees.

Abstract Masterboard

Over on the PA blog we have been treated to a video made by Emma and Leandra which you can see here.

I sort of did what she did but in a different order.

I added my stamping after the white paint knock back.

Then added the white pen and went round the hearts with a black smudgy pencil.

Close up of the flick.

And this is the final piece which I'm going to cut into 4 to make some cards.

Close up of the sapphire treasure gold over the grunge paste.

And this is the A4 page in truer colours as I took this photo this morning when the sun was out.

Celebrations Using Metallics

Happy Halloween - yes I know it's only January, but it fitted the theme!! The background is an embossed piece of black card coloured with a mix of every colour of metallic pan pastels. I added an image, torn tissue wrap, wire and words.

PanPastelUk have a theme of celebrations using metallics.

Dream a Dream

Alison's second project over on this weeks PA blog was all about tags and a canvas which you can see here.  As I didn't have a square canvas I used a piece of 8 x 8 mdf instead.  I coloured it with mocha mousse fresco, added some TH tissue wrap and put grunge paste through the ledger stencil.

I stamped various images with saddle brown and pumpkin stazon onto tissue paper and covered some wooden buttons.

I stamped the feathers and main image onto cream ribbed card.  I painted the background in a wash of nougat fresco and edged with mocha mousse which I also used on the tags and main image to bring it all together.  Added the buttons, tags, piece of die cut lace and the word dream.

Blue, Tissue & Music Tag

Over at Dragons Dream TIO, they have a recipe this week of blue, tissue (paper/tape) and music and you have to use at least one real stamp too!!

I coloured the tag with sky fresco paint, stencilled through with baltic blue paint, used broken china and salty ocean distress stain to make random splodges.  Using T!m's tissue paper I placed a piece on the tag making sure I got the section with the music script on.  I also lightly stamped a couple of rows of music directly onto the tag.  I stamped the LP image in the middle, painted a chipboard heart in ice blue paint and over stamped part of the image.  I then decided the bottom needed something, so remember my homemade washi tape, I stuck that along the bottom and gave it a fringe!!

Take Time

Frances second project on the PA blog which you can see here is all about time.  I covered a piece of chipboard with T!m's tissue paper, coloured it with hey pesto fresco paint and when dry used the Tando cogs stencil with grunge paste.

Once dried, I coloured the cogs with the green shades of portfolio pastels and smudged them with my finger.  I also added zesty zing, limelight and smoked paprika fresco to the background.

Using the tiny circles stencil and the darkest green portfolio I added some circles to the bottom corner.

I die cut the weathered clock from chipboard and slapped some grunge paste on.

Once dried I coloured it in French roast and then I mixed some pewter with hey pesto and sponged that over the top.  Once dry, I sanded back as France did on the heart on project one.

Added the T!m strip die flowers, along with a bit of black portfolio pastel to the cogs to further distress them, stamped over them in black stazon and stamped the quote from Clocks #3.  Onyxite treasure gold was applied to the clock hands and frame edges.

Simon Says Stamp Monday have a theme of make the cut, so I'm entering with this piece.

Wow, this make was spotlighted on the Simon Says Challenge above!!

T!m's May Tag

Over on T!m's blog he's been playing with rub ons and stains to create his May tag.  You can find out how he did it here.  This is my version of what he did!!

I decided to do exactly the same thing again, only this time I used the distress inks.  And unfortunately I didn't put the main image quite as far across as I did the first time, so when I came to attach the ribbon film, it basically covered the face, so with a little re-arranging, it came out like this!!

And here are the two side by side, left is the inks, right is the stains.  To me the inked one looks a little more blockier than the stains one, but then they are liquid stains!!

Emboss It

Over at Fun with Atc's, they are asking to see embossing, any kind of embossing.  I embossed the black card with a script embossing folder and enhanced it with pewter treasure gold.  The right side background is tissue wrap.  The image is Hampton Arts, stamped in black stazon.

***Edited*** I made the top 3 over at Fun with Atc's

Return of the Mousetrap

Over at Out of a Hat Creations, they are running another mousetrap challenge with a free theme.  I covered the board with tissue wrap, and stamped my favourite image onto a piece of white card and then mounted it onto a piece of kraft card.  The mini tag is from the same stamp and coloured with frayed burlap distress ink.  I added a couple of brads and a piece of ribbon.

Music Tag

Over at Out of a Hat Creations this week they are asking for 'music'. Was a bit stumped with this one as I don't have much in the way of musical things, but the lovely Helen sent me some of T!m's tissue wrap (melange) in the post and it just happened to be of the music variety.  So I cut a piece big enough to wrinkle over a tag. I gave it a coat of brushed corduroy distress ink.  I stamped the Hampton Arts image in black Stazon and cut it with a spellbinder nesties die.  Added a piece of card which had been run through the rough diamond Cuttlebug embossing folder, stapled on a piece of crumpled crunchy wax paper and covered the mini staples with T!m's music tissue tape.  Everything was edged with onyxite treasure gold from Paperartsy.
