Creatopia Workshops at The Mad Scrapper - Class 4

And the last class of the weekend. This was the kit.

And it was taught by Anna, showing the blended colours.

And how to apply the rice papers.

I chose to paint the inside of the lid, but there was an option to cover it with the rice papers.

I just decided to cover the lid.

We used 3d gel through a stencil on all 4 sides, I chose a brick.

Built up the composition on the lid. I wanted to cover all of the blue so mine went in the top right corner.

Janet building her composition in the middle of the box lid.

Everyone happy and busy with their boxes.

We were advised to paint the top in the darkest colour of the three paints we used on the sides of the box (purple, burnt siena, carmine.)

Then I forgot to take any further photos, but we did lots more to it to get it to the end. We added waxes and sparks.

Then at 7.30pm we were finished and set off home at 7.45pm.  Arrived home at 12.45am with 2 stops, so made pretty good time.

This was our kit for the first class of day 2.

It was Nunu's turn to take the session.

We sealed the paper with a couple of coats of clear gesso, and then put some white pearl Cadence paste through a stencil.

The room was buzzing, everyone was having an amazing time.

Added some random stamping in walnut stain distress ink.

The next step was to build the composition.

And start to stick it down, just using paper glue.

And this was my finished piece, very minimal. However, we were given loads and loads of different embellishments to add if we wanted to, but I didn't, I am very happy with it how it is.

So here we are again, The wonderful Mad Scrapper in Haddington, Scotland.

We got there early so we could get parked and guess who we bumped into!!!

The room before the chaos began.

This was our first kit project.

And it was Olga who was teaching it.

We stuck different textures to the two substrates and then painted everything cream / Ivory.

Used HBG to glue down the main elements.

Then the bigger embellishments.

We used 3 colours of liquid acrylic, ochre, burnt siena and umber to colour the pieces.

And lastly, glued everything in place.

At lunchtime, we had a wander into the town, bought some lunch and

sat in the park to eat it.

We were very lucky, the weather was beautiful and it was warm.

Then we went back inside for the afternoon session.

The second class of the weekend was taught by Anna.  We covered a canvas with rice paper and then stencilled over the top with effect paste.
