Gothic Style Shaker Plaque

After watching a 'free' youtube video class by the lovely Anna aka Finnabair, I made this.

A shaker plaque made from recycled wood and a plastic dome.

Close up of the shaker part of the plaque.

The bat looked a bit plain so I added a rub on.

Close up of the bottom left corner.

Close up of the top right corner.

Close up of bottom right ish corner.

And the image of what is in the shaker is revealed.

Skellie in a Coffin

I picked up some plastic skellies and skulls.  I decided he needed a coffin.  So I made one out of cardboard.

I gave it a coat of black powertex and played around with some fabrics and resin pieces.

Then I decided I wanted to mount it on something and use a technique shown to us by Finn aka Anna, in one of her live shows.

After a coat of black powertex I dry brushed in white.

Then to see how he fitted in the box with the fabric in.

Once I was happy with everything I mounted the coffin on the background piece.

And a view from the bottom to the top.

And from the other side.

Close up of some of the embellishments.

And some more from the other side.

And a close up of the legs and feet.

And then a close up of the bottom right.

And finally a close up of the skull and skellie.

Spooky Book Box

This is the smallest of the box books I picked up from the bootie.

I soaked some fabric in black and green powertex, as I wanted to create a grassy, muddy effect for a graveyard.

Along all the edges I cut pieces of thin corrugated card, to give the effect of book pages, I high-lighted the ridges with treasure gold.

I used patterned paper on the front.

This is the long edge of the book.

And I used the same type of patterned paper on the back too.

And this is the spine.

This is on the inside of the front cover.

And this is what I decided on for the inside of the box. It's approx 2" deep.

And this is what it looks like when it's open and stood up.

This is for sale in my online shop here.

Cogs & Spoon Plaque

Remember this spoon I picked up from the car boot a few weeks ago?

I used my new Finn stencil and silver icing paste to put the pattern on this piece of wood.

I glued a piece of lace over the top.

Then I pulled out a few resin pieces and played around until I came up with something that I likes.

I painted on some prussian blue and sprayed water on it to dilute the colour.

Painted all the elements black except the spoon.

Next I sprayed the pieces with Decoart turquoise metallic spray.

Once dry, I used my new favourite colour of alchemy wax brushed iron, to high-light parts of the embellishments.

I decided to paint the spoon silver.

Close up of the head / bowl of the spoon.

And a close up of the other end, the fancy handle.

And finally the middle of the spoon.

This is going up for sale in my online website.

Creepy Doll Lantern

I picked up this lantern from the car boot.

I gave it a coat of black powertex.

I took a mini dolls head and painted it in white gesso.

Then I added some nails and painted the face on.

I added different colours of alcohol ink to the glass dome and swilled it around so its less shiny and clean.

I added cotton scrim which I sprayed with black and purple.  I also added some resin bones, a skull, a spider, three cogs and a key.  I also added metallic skulls to the dolls head.

This is the view from the back.

And a close up of the face.  It was really hard to get a good photo because of the glare on the glass and the bars that go across the bottom.
