Bright Tags & T!m Stamps

Background was created with a purple, green, yellow and blue Decoart multi surface satin paints and then I cut the piece of card in half to make two tags. Stamped the dragonfly in versamark ink and heat embossed it with fine black wow powders. The rest of the T!m images were stamped in black stazon.

The dragonfly on this one was heat embossed with blue wow powders and then re-heated and fragment powders added in a mix of blue and gold. Again T!m stamps used to fill the rest of the space on the tag using black stazon.

And the pair side by side.

Country View Crafts have a challenge this month of things with wings, so these tags will fit perfectly.

6 x 6 & Tag

I muted down some of the background page that I created yesterday by brayering over with a wash of titan buff media paint.  Then using a toothbrush, I spritzed and flicked the rest of the paint. I used a couple of T!m Holtz stamps in timber brown stazon, a dog from the paper dolls Idea-ology pack and whizzed around the outside with the sewing machine. It measures 6" x 6".

And another tag with a Stampotique figure, an Idea-ology dog and again more machine stitching around the edges.

Oxide Cards

I used a couple of my oxide backgrounds to make these two birthday cards which I can now show you as they have both been received.

For the explanation of how I created the backgrounds check out the blog post here.

Little Book of Wonder

I'm involved in a swap over on a Facebook group and the criteria was for it to be no larger than 4" x 4" with a maximum of 12 pages / signatures, decorated in whatever medium you fancy or how you like, with quotes on at least half of the amount of pages you have in your book.

All the quotes are stamped in a coloured stazon.

The pages were painted with DecoArt multi satin paints and stamped in co-ordinating colour of stazon inks.

Also included are some images including ones from Teesha Moore.

I used DecoArt chalky black and white paint with lid tops and a credit card to make the marks.

These images are from the Crowabout pages.

This quote is from Stampotique.

This quote is also from Stampotique.

Seth Apter and Andy Skinner stamps used in the backgrounds.

Another Stampotique quote.

And I thought I'd add my name to the back page.

I added a piece of ribbon as a closure for the book.

I hope my swap partner likes it, I had fun making it.

Postcards

I'd more or less forgotten what to do with these, I haven't used them for so long, but over on the PaperArtsy blog they have a new challenge of alcohol inks / pens, so I got mine out. I used raspberry, sailboat and citrus on glossy card and moved the ink using the Ranger distress ink spritzer. Using black stazon I stamped the TH images and once dry outlined parts of the images with a white sharpie pen.

Black and White with a splash of Red

Stamped the background in various Tim Holtz script stamps. Stamped the Dina image and the heart on separate card and cut them out.

Another Tim script stamped down the right hand side and a strip of tissue tape down the middle of the other side. Butterfly coloured in festive red distress ink.

Both tags side by side.

PaperArtsy have a theme of fonts and quotes this week, so I'm entering my tags.

Thrinchies and Inchies

To complete the set I made some 3" x 3" squares. Not sure if they are called thrinchies or not! Backgrounds are distress inks in vintage photo, walnut stain and black soot. I used a Seth die and ripped pieces out of it and used it on the backgrounds of the two with small tickets on. Everything else is stamped, tissue tape or the TH larger tickets.

And with a spare piece of card, I made another three inchies.

Birthday Cards

I was asked to make two 50th birthday cards and the only info I had was female, New York, Venice, Madrid, Las Vegas etc, so I lightly brayered DecoArt multi surface satin true blue and flamingo onto white card. Once dry, I took my TH ticket and Creative Expressions word stamp of place names, including New York and Madrid along with quite a few others and stamped in versamark and embossed with black embossing powder to create the background.

Next I stamped lots of Dina images onto different backgrounds of paper to see how I could use them and this is what I ended up with. The images are outlined in black pen.

And this is what I did for the second one, stamped another of Dina images several times on different backgrounds and played around with them.

The other part of the brief was to make them the same but with subtle differences, what do you think? The person who asked me to make them hasn't seen them yet, so no idea what she was expecting or if these hit the mark or not!!

PaperArtsy have a theme of typography, fonts and quotes this week, so I'm entering the cards.

Wide Lollie Sticks

We are having a lollie stick swap over on a FB group I belong to. I wanted to use the wider ones, so I sent for some off Ebay. I used DecoArt tinting base and a variety of colours of media paint for the backgrounds.

The images are either stamped in black Stazon ink or white everlasting chalky paint. I added some doodles and gems.

X's and Eye Tag

Had great fun with this tag. I took 6 colours of media paint and swooshed them onto the black tag with my fingers. Once happy I used the AS chevron stencil and chalky everlasting paint. Then using the original colour pallet I used the stencil again to bump the images.

Used the Andy Skinner scratch stamp in black stazon, then over stamped in media paints, pyrrole orange and blue green light. Stamped the script in whisper (off white) chalky paint.

Again using my fingers I swirled everlasting chalky paint in a circle to house the TH eye stamp. I die cut two of the drips shapes and stuck them on top of each other at an angle, colouring them with the leftovers on the cut and dry from the stamping.

The X is the die cut from the middle of the drips set. They were coloured with pyrrole orange, trans yellow oxide and quin magenta. They were stamped with the AS script stamp in black stazon.

All products used are from the DecoArt range.

Atc's

I was inspired by Lesley to make these. She had her first play with her gelli plate yesterday, pop over to see how she got on here. I used left overs for mine.

The background for this one was made using a Prima bubbles stencil. I added stamping in black stazon and edged with black soot distress ink.

The background of this one was created using a foam plate that I made, stamping into the gelli plate after the paint has been applied. Stamped the Dina lady and the Andy Skinner text in olive stazon. Edged in walnut stain distress ink.

The background on this one was created with stencils and a foam stamp. The Seth stamp from the Solar System set was stamped first in olive green. I masked off the Andy Skinner eye stamp and the word and stamped in back stazon. I used white sharpie pen on the eye. Edged with walnut stain distress ink.

PaperArtsy have a theme of mono printing this week.

Modelling Paste & Interference Paints

I've been playing with DecoArt media modelling paste and interference paints and this is my atc.

As you can see, I was a little hasty and the modelling paste hadn't properly dried before I put the next layer on, so the hand image under the word antiques, has lost it's shape together with the word open, underneath.

So I decided to rectify it and rusted up a chipboard skull die cut.

As you can see, the interference paint really makes it shimmer.

Not sure if you can see the crackle, but it's there.

Close up of the DecoArt media interference paints.

All products are from the DecoArt range.

Tag Playtime

Well as it was chucking it down all morning, I decided to do something I've not done for a long time, play with some tags!

The backgrounds are mainly Crayola Twist Stiks but they don't blend very well and need 'help', so gesso was applied to the tags first which helps them move across the page better.

Close up - stamping with inks and chalky paints.

And pretty much the same thing for this one, just stamped until I got the look I wanted. I added some white pen work to this one.

Altered Dominos

I'm in a mini marvels swap and this month the theme is altered dominos. It's been a bit of a rush job as I went back to work on Thursday and the deadline is next weekend, but I got there in the end.

They are foam dominos and were initially painted in everlasting chalk decoart paint, next I randomly added silver shimmer dazzling metallics, then I stamped the PA mini script in black stazon to create the background. I stamped the images onto text print paper, cut them out and stuck them on with decoupage glue and then sealed the whole of the domino with it. Once dry I pierced a couple of holes, added wire and embellishments to finish.
