Trust In Rust Challenge

 

I collected all these pieces of rust over a few days by picking them up out of the gutter on our doggie walks.

Next I started to play around with some of the pieces.

I covered the canvas with patterned papers.

Added some clear crackle.

Once fully dry I smeared some burnt sienna over the crackle so it would sink in the gaps.

Then for the next coat I used carmine in the Finnabair range.

Rusty Findings

There is a rusty findings challenge this month over on the Patreons of Finnabair FB page. 

This is what I found out on the street on our walk this morning with Boo. No idea what some of it is, but it's all metal and mostly rusty!

This one has the two biggest pieces turned over so you can see the other side of them.
