70th Birthday Card - Mum
Tracey Evans reminded me in a live FB she did a few days ago about the shaving foam technique to create backgrounds. I used alcohol ink with mine.
I based this card for my mums 70th birthday on the one she made on the live feed.

Easel Cards
I was asked to make a couple of cards so I chose the easel style as they both required quite a few different pictures on them.
They were both for 50th birthdays.

Sleepy Bunny
I made this sleepy bunny following the Sarafina tutorial as I want to participate in the Sarafina Felt on Earth event that's happening in April.
The idea is to make something and leave it in a public place for someone else to pick up and take home with them.
I still have to make the nest yet and then decide how to package it.
Another fun project, thanks Sara.

Atc's with Bling!!!
I covered a piece of card with sticky silver foil, cut it into ATC sized pieces and embossed each one with a different folder.
Swiped them with versa mark and added embossing powders. Heated them again and added some schizel otherwise known as foil!
Then I made a huge mistake!!! Instead of swiping a permanent ink over the top, ie archival or stazon, for reasons unknown to me, I used versa fine ink, which just would not dry!!
I couldn't use the heat tool to dry the ink as it would remelt the powders! So I sprayed them with matte varish and then swished over them again with black stazon ink! I finally chose some images and words, but didn't want to cover up too much of the backgrounds.

Miniature Cabinets
These little cabinets measure 9 cm x 10 cm. This is the outer cover and was made for a birthday present for a friend.
And this is the inside housing miniature items made from beads, findings, wires, leather, 3d foam and charms.
Close up of the miniatures. The case and shelves are made from chipboard.
This is the cover, again it measures 9cm x 10 cm.
And this is it open. It's quite sturdy and free standing.
I hope they like them as they were fun to make.
To see how to make them check out this YouTube video from Jennings644, she makes some fabulous things.

More TM Inspiration
Created a border on a sheet of A4 card using TM and magazine images.
Created a main image using all sorts of bits.
Added some doodling, a quote and some pan pastels in the background.
And some gold pen doodling to fill in the gap. I was going to fill it with another quote but decided against it this time.

Time Canvas
I took an 8 x 10 canvas board and glued various items to it, ie chipboard letters and numbers, spellbinder dies and some stencilling with grunge paste. Then painted over everything with gesso.
And coloured it with sprays, inks, primary elements and treasure gold. I added some DecoArt media texture sand paste too. I basically just kept going until I was happy with the colour.
Close up of the letters.
Close up of the top right corner.
And the bottom right corner.
Over at Pan PastelUK they have a theme of add some bling, well I used so much treasure gold that I think this will count!!!

Tissue Tape Collage
Over on the PA blog this week I decided to play along with Sara N's collaged card project which you can see here. I used alcohol inks with blending solution and tissue tape.
And as I don't do flowers I stamped the Dina Wakley row of 3 hearts from the collaged hearts set on a spare piece of the same card, cut them out and 3d mounted them onto a thin strip of a gelli print, black card and off white card. Finally I edged the piece with black marker pen.

The Final Curtain - Inspired by PA
Over at the PA blog this week, Julie Ann has made a lovely project in her journal which you can see here, here and here as she show cased it over 3 nights. I don't do journalling so made a stand alone mini theatre piece by building up die cut negatives.
And this is just to give you an idea of the depth of each layer.

Tag Challenge
Emma bought me this fabulous Acey Duecy wooden stamp designed by Lynne Perrella for my birthday, but due to stock issues and re-ordering it only came this week!!
Now over on Darcy's blog she is having a tag challenge. I'm not sure if I'll qualify as you are meant to use Xmas stamps to make gift tags. These will end up as gift tags due to their size but maybe not for Xmas, but then again, you never know!!! Either way, I had to have a play.
So the idea is to use the same stamp in as many ways as you can. So the top tag is one layered, ie all the stamping is done directly onto the tag using black archival and red stazon inks.
For this second tag, the main image was stamped, then masked off whilst the background script was stamped. The butterfly face was stamped onto separate card, stamped in red stazon, cut out and stuck over the original image.
For the third tag I stamped the main image and again on another piece of card. Hi-lighted some of the areas in red posca pen.
I cut out a portion of the second image and mounted it on 3d foam to give it a decoupaged look. Here you can just about see the 2mm foam that I used.
And for my final tag I stamped the face several times in red stazon and black archival, cut them all out and alternated them on left hand side of a tag that I'd stamped with an oriental background. So for this tag I used part of the stamp.
And here are all the 4 tags beside each other.

Spooky for Halloween - Stampotique
It's Carol's turn to choose this weeks Stampotique theme and she's gone for spooky / Halloween. The background is a patterned paper with skulls. I die cut the rickety house, stamped over it with the mini brick stamp in white ink and added orange to the windows. I stamped the tree onto ribbed kraft paper in timber brown stazon and cut it out. I die cut and embossed the grave stones and scribbled on them in white posca pen, I also coloured the top one in ruby treasure gold.
Another Stampotique image I chose was the skeleton aka the beast. I stamped him twice onto a lightweight card as I wanted to cut him out and reposition his bones to make him more upright!!! I stamped the freakin people person quote onto white card and edged in black pen and added the die cut bats to finish.
Country View Crafts have a theme of something spooky for Halloween, so I'm entering there too!!
Anything but a Card have a colour challenge this month, colours of the season - black and orange!!

It's Your World
Over at DragonsDream TIO this week they have a recipe of waste/rubbish, male and chipboard, so I decided to play along with this tag.
The actual tag itself is made from a cardboard box, the hanger is a ring pull coloured in pitch black alcohol ink and the string is recycled. Chipboard was used for the pediment, cogs and arrow all painted in lumiere paints.
And of course you have to use one real stamp, so my main TH image was stamped and coloured with distress ink markers using a water brush.

Beginning with 'B'
Bats, black and bottle are my items beginning with 'B' for this weeks Out of the Hat Creations piece.
This was just to show the depth I had to create because of having to fit the mini bottle in- between the layers. Two lots of 3mm foam and then small wooden squares to bulk it out. The outer frame is corrugated cardboard to give it some texture.

Red Hot
Grunge paste was randomly applied to the tag and was imprinted with a piece of lace and then coloured with blood orange fresco paint. The tag was sanded back and some of the grunge paste showed through.
Various LP images were stamped separately onto card and coloured with distress inks and markers. I also added a piece of my home made washi tape.

What's Your Poison?
Over at the PaperArsty blog France is back with her last project of the week, she's made a potions holder, see how she did it here.
I more or less followed what she did except I used a piece of wood instead of a canvas. The GP background gives an amazing texture by using the brayer.

Feeling Blue - Country View Crafts
I decided to create a frame using the negatives from the alteration dies arch and framed postage stamp and also a mini cabinet die.
I created a shadow box back from a piece of chipboard as I wanted to create some depth.
The images are a mixture of PaperArtsy, Lynne Perrall stamps - LPC005, 022 & 023. The bottom left image is Dina Wakley's grunge tree. The main image was stamped in versamark onto glossy white card and heat embossed with black embossing powder and fussy cut out leaving a very small white border.
The images on the outside of the frame were coloured with the blues of the distress ink markers. The image on the right was stamped directly onto the frame with black stazon and outline with a white posca pen.
The outside frame was painted with a mixture of beach hut and south pacific freso paint. The inner (arch frame) was run through the cuttlebug script embossing folder, painted in baltic blue and hi-lighted with PaperArtsy pewter treasure gold.
I re-cut the mini cabinet die with blue paper and mounted it on the chipboard piece. I cut a piece of patterned paper for the inside of the box and assembled the box. The mini cabinet was adhered with 2mm 3d foam to give it some depth. The arch layer was placed directly on top of the box and postage stamp frame was adhered with 1mm 3d foam.
This photo shows the depth I managed to achieve using the shadow box and 3d foam.
I joined in with the Country View Crafts blog challenge in April and was lucky enough to be picked out as the winner of their random draw. I won a £20 gift voucher and the chance to join their DT for June. So naturally I accepted, the theme is die cuts and my piece has been show cased on the blog here.
