Life

Had a little play to make this little character. The background was already there. I'm guessing it was excess paint from another project.

Tags with New Goodies

I treated myself to some Seth Apter stencils and some Teesha Moore stamps. These have all been on my wish list for ages!!!

I also treated myself to a Seth Apter Webinar called Magic of Mixed Media Layers, and first off was to give your chosen surface a coat of black gesso.

Next add a rough layer of a colour you're not too fond of, hence mine are all a shade of pink - lol

Then add another layer of another colour.

Next, add paint to another surface, ie the tag on the right, and squish it onto the other tags.

Keep going with these layers until you are happy with what you get, added bonus is, you end up with a forth background surface.

Next add random background stamping, I used various colours of Stazon and parts of a variety of cling stamps.

Then using my brand new Seth Stencils, I stenciled onto the tags using a stipple brush.

I added doodling with a white and black posca pen and outlined some of the stenciling and I really liked them as they are, but as Seth said, don't be afraid to add the next layer, so here goes!

I stamped some of my new Teesha girls onto white paper and coloured them in with a variety of bright coloured pens.

And this is how they've finished up.

More TM Inspiration

Created a border on a sheet of A4 card using TM and magazine images.

Created a main image using all sorts of bits.

Added some doodling, a quote and some pan pastels in the background.

And some gold pen doodling to fill in the gap. I was going to fill it with another quote but decided against it this time.

TM Style Tag

Having seen a couple of TM pages that Chris kindly posted on my FB timeline, this inspired me to make a tag and I've been wanting to do a black and white one for ages! Unfortunately I was having that much fun, I forgot to take any stage photos!

I decided to add some grasshopper green by Molotow as I also wanted to play along with this weeks That's Crafty challenge which is Black and White and a hint.

Close up of bottom right hand corner with a hint of green.

Triptych Teesha Style

I had a bit of a brain wave last night and rushed off to gesso three square coasters, I didn't get any further as Fraz wasn't happy I'd moved, so I had to retreat back to the settee so he could sit on me through the rest of the fireworks!! So this morning I painted them in dylusions paints, but it wasn't thick enough and you could still see the writing on the beer mats, so I went over them with the Dina Wakley heavy bodied paints, that sorted them out. Made the border from odd bits and bobs and then created my main image.

Stuck the middle section on first and then cut the top and bottom off the main image and lined them up on the respective mats. Outlined the image with a black fude ball pen as it works great over Dina's paints, added a few lines and doodles and filled in the backgrounds with a white sharpie pen.

Once I'd taken the previous photo above, I decided it needed more doing to it, so I added some colour to the cheeks and some freckles. Spruced up the hair a bit more, gave the shoes a colour lift and added a few dots to the borders.

Over at PaperArtsy they have a theme of triptych and Stampotique have a theme of bright colours.

Journal Page Play

Been playing again with magazine and collage pages making up images, but wanted to do something different this time and do the writing in a colour. I still ended up adding a black and white just to help define it more.

And using my new Zig pens I did a lot more doodling on these pages with them. There is only one problem with them so far, when using a white sharpie over the top of them, the white turns a paler shade of the colour you are writing over. So I used silver on the left hand side page.
