Vintage Double Window Tags - Day 7

After watching Tracie's video I decided to have a go at creating some windows myself but unfortunately I broke my 2" circle punch in the process, so had to go with an oval instead!

I was lazy and used pen around the edges to create faux stitching and I didn't fancy that oval either.

And the inner tag pulled out.

And tucked back inside the window.

And the second vintage tag.

And smaller tag pulled out to expose the window.

And with the smaller tag going back inside the window tag.

And both tags together with half the windows showing.

These are my day 7 tags for the #FABtag30day challenge.

More Goodies

I got these papers and trims from roze.co.uk.

Close up of all the wonderful trims that were half price. It was only when I posted up this photo that I noticed one was missing from the package. I ordered 9 but only 8 arrived.

Feather and elephant charms.

This is a bit thicker than tissue paper with a metallic pattern running through it.

Oriental tape.

Origami papers - lovely variety pack.

Finished Mini Journal from Kate Crane Workshop

I made my own version of a mini journal with the pages I created at Kates class on Friday at Art from the Heart. This is the front.

And this is the back.

And this is it when it's been opened.

This is a view from the top. It looks like a star book.

And these are the mini pages inside.

They are a mix of collage pages and T!m's paperdolls and we made loads of them!!

Altered Dominos

I'm in a mini marvels swap and this month the theme is altered dominos. It's been a bit of a rush job as I went back to work on Thursday and the deadline is next weekend, but I got there in the end.

They are foam dominos and were initially painted in everlasting chalk decoart paint, next I randomly added silver shimmer dazzling metallics, then I stamped the PA mini script in black stazon to create the background. I stamped the images onto text print paper, cut them out and stuck them on with decoupage glue and then sealed the whole of the domino with it. Once dry I pierced a couple of holes, added wire and embellishments to finish.

Bees Wax

Started off by putting spare modelling paste through a TH hexagon stencil, top and bottom right. Went over this with yellow portfolio pastels and coloured the 'space' with orange pastel before melting beeswax onto it and stamping into it with a hexagon stamp.

This is the full #8 tag.

Added brown portfolio pastel over the raised bees wax. Stamped the Stampotique bee onto separate card, cut out and stuck them on the tag. Edged with gathered twig distress ink.

Then I decided it needed something else, so added renaissance and ruby treasure gold to bring out the textures.

PaperArtsy have a theme of wax.

B&W Flip Flap Journal

I made this for a Christmas gift way back in October but absolutely loved putting it all together.

I created all the backing papers myself and printed them off.

I decided to leave a black border on all the pages.

Panels were cut into 5.5" square and 2.5" x 5.5" pieces.

I picked out some images and built up the pages, also using magazine images.

I added tissue tape to some of the pages, used portfolio pastels, pencils and pens to shade and doodle.

I also stamped some shapes in Decoart everlasting chalky paint.

This is an aerial view with all the pages covered apart from the middle one on the back which needs to be blank as that is the one you stick onto the cover.

And I did umm and arrr but finally I added some words!!

Not to all the pages, but enough!!

And the finished piece. You can see where the cover has been added to the middle panel and you can see the two front flaps (the stripey ones at the back).

Flip Flap Journal

This is the front cover of a journal I put together using six, 6 x 12 pieces of card, creating extra flaps. So the pages are 6 x 6 or 6 x 3 but the 6 x 3's create shutters over some of the 6 x 6 pages. I used brads and a piece of hemp cord as a closure.

This is the very first page you see when you open the cover. The inside of the flaps have been covered with a mask patterned card to hide the backs of the brads.

This is one of the 6 x 6 pages with it's two 6 x 3 shutters with borders and images.

The pages on the left are two 6 x 3 pages closed, so you are seeing the outsides and then another 6 x 6 page.

This one shows two 6 x 3 pages closed, a 6 x 6 page and another 6 x 3 page.

So the 6 x 6 page in the middle will be covered up with the 6 x 3 flaps either side.

Once all the pages and shutters had some sort of imagery on them I went back in and coloured all the backgrounds.

Added some stamping, doodling and low and behold, some writing!

Also added some pre-printed text to some of the pages too.

I just love how the page on the left came out. The two pages on the right form the shutters to the 6 x 6 page underneath it.

And another 6 x 6 with a 6 x 3 flap each side. There are more pages as there 21 in total, but I didn't want to bore you too much!!

And finally an aerial view so you can see how the shutters fold in.
