Our last day - Paris

Just over the road from our hotel was a huge market which mostly sold food and some clothing.

It was down the middle of the main street and ran all the way to end of the road.

There were lots of fresh seafood stalls, and I mean very fresh.

I was advised that this is octopus.

And the white stuff in the middle box is squid, Emma had to take this photo as I couldn't get that close!!

And the flower stalls were so colourful and the bunches were stacked so delicately.

Sea urchins amongst other fishy things.

Clams.

Then we reached the end of a row and saw lots of people gathered.

Today was the Paris marathon.

And we didn't realise that they were running past the end of our road.

Then we made our way to the train station to get on the Eurostar back to the UK.

We were going from platform 3.

Emma catching 40 winks on the Eurostar. Lin chatting to me and Helen sat opposite as we were lucky enough to get seated around a table again.

Tags inspired by Linda Cain

We all went to a workshop and half completed some tags. We used gesso through a stencil and coloured them using Izinks and that's as far as we got. Then we came back to the hotel and after reading the Linda Cain blog post here on the PA blog we decided to finish them off and enter them into this weeks challenge. They are all on separate posts in order for us to link up to the blog.

So come on give it a go, if we can link up from Paris, you can too!!!

Emmas Tag for PA

You'll be able to guess that this one is Emma's, it's very pink!! Again Emma added the butterflies, feathers and flower to her tag background. Oh and a bit of doodling with the black pen.

Helens Tag for PA

Helen added feathers, a flower and an acetate dragonfly to her tag.

Lins Tag for PA

Gesso through a stencil, coloured with Izinks and finished off with acetate butterflies, feathers and a French saying.

PaTwits out sight seeing

We took the #69 bus to the end of the line and the first place we came to was Hotel des Invalides.

In the war it was the hospital for injured soldiers and they used to man the cannons to protect themselves.

This building with the gold statues was at the other end of the street.

Boat trips were available down the Seine.

Helen, Emma and Lin pointing as we were walking along the Seine, at what I have no idea!

Next stop, Eiffel Tower.

Emma, Helen and Lin sat under the huge structure, with a leg in the background.

A selfie with my arm in the way and half the Eiffel Tower in the background!!

Next we went to the Arc de Triomphe. Lin and Helen went up it, so will have some fab photos to blog when they get home.

Wanted to see the Champs-Elysees as that's where the Tour de France cycle race always finishes, on the cobbles!!

Looking down the Champs-Elysees.

A well needed rest in the Jardin des Tuileries, the park at the end of the Champs-Elysees as we walked the full length of it.

Another mural from a wall in a tube station but we hit that many today we can't remember which it belongs to - oooops, sorry!! Been reliably informed it was Clemenceau metro station - thanks Emma

Emma, our tour guide, deciding how to get us to Notre Dame.

As you can see, the weather was perfect. This is Notre Dame from the front.

Helen, Lin and me in front of Notre Dame.

The side of the bridge was absolutely covered in padlocks. Apparently, you get a padlock, write your message on it and then lock it to another one already on there.

Lin and Emma on the bridge.

Helen, Lin and me on the corner of the bridge with the back of Notre Dame behind us.

Down the other side of the river were all arty crafty stalls selling books, paintings and prints.

Then we went to Basilique du Sacre-Coeur which is a very religious building and as you can see, was very busy.

This is the view looking down from the same building.

Then we stopped in the square, Place du Tertre, for some refreshments.

Alcoholic ones of course!!

And our final stop was to Moulin Rouge.

And finally a view from the window of the main road our hotel is situated on.

And the park across the road.

We had a very well travelled day, but we are all totally exhausted now!

PaTwits in Paris - Version Scrap Day & workshop

This is just down the road at the end of our street, although we are not sure what it is!!

And on the pavement just after we've come up from the metro to get on the noddy train to Parc Floral.

Chateau de Vincennes just before the Parc Floral.

In our 'huge tags' workshop intently listening to instructions!!

Brigit, our teacher who spoke perfect English.

Lin with one of her many tags.

My 4 tags playing with the Aladine pigment Iznks. They are half way between acrylic paint and india inks.

Extra curricular activities, Helen drying Emma's journal page with the mop ups!!

Christine and Lin intently following the instructions!!

Then they saw me and smiled!!

Busy, busy, busy, beavering away.

The gang playing and having fun, whilst stopping for a photo opportunity.

Packing away for the next class to arrive.

Guess where we headed off to next.....

Lin making me a tag with greens and LP stamps.

Leandra trying her best at the French lingo with a bit of English thrown in for good measure!!!

Both still demoing after a really long day.

One of the many murals on the wall of the Bastille metro station.

The stash, stencils and stamps....and....

wooden and metal embellies, sanding blocks and ric rac.

Then we hit the town and invaded this place.

Where we had another very traditional French meal, pizza! Please take note of the bottle of wine shared by Emma and Helen.
