JFF - Week 8 - Stamping with a difference

This is Zoe's last week of the 'let's try it out' theme on JFF.  She has asked that we use a stamp in a different or new way.  Remember a while ago when I made my own stamps with foam and a piece of wood - here, well I decided to use one of them to create this background.  I watered down black eco friendly paint and washed it over a piece of absorbent paper out of a pink pig sketchbook.  Once dry I scraped gesso over it using an old credit card.  Once dried I painted the homemade stamp with red pepper acrylic dabber paint and printed onto the paper.  Once dry I painted the stamp again but this time with white eco friendly paint and stamped over the red.

I haven't decided what to do with it yet, but on one of the yahoo groups I belong to there is a 'printed' swap going on.  This includes creating the stamp, creating the background and then making it into something, so I might just have a go at that.

Love how you have done this and bet it is even better in real life as you will be able to see the texture (and feel it). Guess this is a 'Sam Technique' that we all need to try.

Brilliant Sam, The texture is wonderful. I know you need to make it into something, but it looks fab just on your torn edged paper.
You gave me something to think about with you using your own stamp... x
