I wanted to carry on playing with the DecoArt antiquing creams, but instead of using them on their own, I wanted to try layering the colours. Using the Andy Skinner stencil, I put black modelling paste through the skull and words onto the gesso'd canvas board.
I added a layer of patina antiquing cream and wiped it back.
I continued to add layers of black and patina, wiping back and sealing with ultra matte varnish in-between coats, if you do not do this you will wipe back all the previous layers, until I was happy with the colour.
The final coat of antiquing cream was a white one and again I sealed the whole canvas. Outlined the letters and parts of the image with white posca pen. The drippage was created from the black media mister.
It didn't quite look finished so I outlined the edges with a touch of dazzling metallic paint in black pearl. Now it's finished!
All products are from the DecoArt range.
