Got inspired to play with my limited amount of Brushos last night. I experimented on various types of card with different absorbencies to see what would happen and how they would disperse, or not!!
I started with a heavy weight cartridge paper which absorbed the crystals and made the background speckled.
I wet the cartridge paper first on this one, then I went mad and added nearly every colour I had and just kept spraying until it had all dispersed and left it to dry.
This time I used HP photo cards and got very different results, the crystals moved a lot more over the page.
Believe it or not, this is actually moss green!! I heated the card too much as it cracked in various places!! Love the white space on this one.
In contrast this one is lime green with a bit of red rose thrown in.
And these two were done on a smooth coated white card, and it didn't really absorb much, it just left a light colouring and then ran off to the edges, probable because of the coating.
Managed to pick up some of the colour, but it's quite dull, but then it was olive green which is quite a dark colour.
This one is sandstone, which is a dark brown, but it's kind of come out a light orange.
Shall keep playing with different types of card, but it all depends on what look you are going for I think.

Interesting effects with the different substrates !! Must get my Brushos out !
some great experiments there, Sam. Love the moss green one!
Fantastic experimentation - so cool to see the effect on different surfaces... I'm definitely tempted, but have sworn I won't do any crafty shopping before I go to the US!

Isn't it wonderful to see the different effects of the same product on different papers. I only heard of Brusho the other day and it looks a bit like Bister. Like this a lot too as the colours are brighter.
