Altered Tin

The theme over at PanPastelUk this week is 'altered/recycled item'.  The only stipulation is that your project must be a genuine alteration or recycled item.  So I chose a mini cigar tin to alter.

This is the outside opened up.

And this is the inside opened up.

So I had a play with my new Fresco chalk paints (from Paperartsy) and they are fabulous, they blend together so well.  I firstly painted the tin in white gesso and then used the yellow, green and brown out the set I purchased at the GNPE at Harrogate.  I used my new Stampotique splatter stamp with timber brown Stazon.  The circles were created using a pop bottle lid and the brown paint.

And for the inside I used a sheet of card from another GNPE purchase, the old world mat stack pad (DCWV).  I stamped the splatters, again in timber brown Stazon, directly onto the patterned card.  I stamped the Stampotique 'whatever..'  onto a separate piece of the same card and edged it in timber brown Stazon.  I stamped the mushrooms and monster key keeper onto white card, coloured them with the Fresco chalk paints, cut them out and stuck them onto the background papers in the tin.  I cut the smallest mushroom off the group and stuck it on the other side of the tin as the monster was hiding it.

This is my altered cigar tin for this weeks PanPastelUk challenge.
