Domino's

I'm hosting a domino swap over on Lotstodo. I've used foam domino's and I think they have soaked up all the distressed ink which I used for the background!!! The images are stamped with stazon.

I also made a tag and an atc using the same technique as the previous tags so I am entering these into this weeks Lotstodo challenge as the theme is embossing. This is my second entry but this time I've used heat embossing.

Distressed 4 x 4 Swap

Alison over on Lotstodo is hosting a 4 x 4 distressed / vintage swap. I chose to distress mine using the same technique as the tags below except this time I used Pearl Ex instead of the Silkies.

Embossing - Lotstodo Challenge

I recently bought some of the spellbinders impressabilites, paisley, butterfly and circle cuts. I ran them though the big shot, dusted them over with perfect pearls and used hairspray to seal.

Frazzie Pages

Made a start on my Frazzie pages. Again just simple.


This page I am entering into this weeks My Time to Craft Challenge as the theme is 'On the Spot' and this one is rather dotty!!!!


And this is one of my favourite photos, just look at that mischievous eye!!

Playing Around

Have been playing around with my cuttlebug folders and my nesties (labels 8 set). This one is the script folder coloured with old paper distressed ink. I stamped the tickets with timber brown stazon and cut out. I added a scrunched ticket, a piece of hessian ribbon and a computer generated scroll. I sandwiched a piece of light weight hessian between the two identical nestie shapes and added ribbon to the top to hang with.


This one was done in exactly the same way, except I used the music scroll and black soot distressed ink.


And for this one I used the numbers folder and a couple of stamped images.

And finally for this one I used the flower folder. Coloured the heads with rusty hinge and the greenery with crushed olive distress inks. Added a couple of flowers with buttons and a quote made into a tag.

Tags

These were created thanks to information from Joy (Lotstodo Forum) and inspiration from Sheena Douglass demonstrating on a C&C tv show yesterday which was re-run last night.

I went my own way with them as all I had that she was using was the black soot distressed ink pad!!! I inked adirondack wild plum and mustard coloured distressed ink onto a craft mat and spritzed with water. Using a paint brush I added in some of the chalky/paint highly pigmented with mica from the silkies I got in Harrogate (remember, the ones that look like nail varnish!!). I swooshed the tags in the mixture to get a background. Using black soot I stamped various images onto the tags (again purchased at Harrogate, the stamps, not the tags). I clear embossed certain images, including the hand and the bottom eye. I mixed a bit of blue perfect pearls with water to make a paste and coloured in the outer eye and part of the hand (the swirl and a finger). I roughed up the edges of the tag with a paper distresser and inked them with black soot. Added an eyelet and fibres. You might have to enlarge the picture to see it all in detail.

Fun Day - Easter Sunday

I went to see Hilda on Easter Sunday and as you probably imagined, we got messy!!! Here is Hilda with green hands, I know green is my colour, but she beat me to it - lol!!!


She found a few things for us to do!!! This was a little box which I altered.


I stamped all 4 edges using, dream, hope, art and follow.


She had just taken stock of some mini bird houses, so we had a play with those too!!!

I added mini cotton reels to the bottom of mine for extra height!!!

This was by far the best thing we played with, this is where Hilda's green hands came in. She did her suitcase green and by it was green but with a bit of distressing she toned it down so it looked shabby and tattered!!! I did mine brown and splodged some black on with kitchen roll, then I sanded the edges and used walnut stain and black soot distressed inks, added the label, some string and the prestuds.

When I got home I attacked the inside (as we ran out of time). The lid is an old piece of map.

The bottom is scrunched up white tissue with tea dye and walnut stain distressed inks rubbed over it. A torn ticket, an airmail letter, an artists pallet and some home made pens were placed inside.

Distressed Swap - Lotstodo

I finally managed to locate some hessian today in Boyes. It was tucked away in the corner, so now the roll is a meter shorter!!!! This is my third piece for the swap I am hosting. I also managed to get my sewing a bit straighter on this one!!!

I stamped the image with black stazon onto a piece of material, then soaked in it cold coffee. Once dry, I glued it to another piece of material sewing the pieces onto a piece of torn paper. I then stapled everything onto a piece of hessian.

Atc Swap - Newest Stamps

This months UKStampers theme is 'newest stamps'. I used some from my holiday stash. Blue and orangy/green backgrounds were created with distressed inks, images stamped with timber brown stazon. The middle one is alcohol inks from the light range, images stamped in ultimate marine blue and olive green stazon.

Lotstodo - Black & White & Zoes Birthday

This weeks theme over on the Lotstodo challenge is black and white. I made this from a piece of corrugated cardboard, stuck a piece of a dictionary page and some white scrunched up tissue paper to add texture and gave it a quick coat of snowcap acrylic paint. Once dry I flicked a dryish paintbrush over it with pitch black dabber paint. I stamped the CI-110 image in black stazon onto white card and also the words just dreaming, added ribbon, lace and buttons. I inked the white flowers with black stazon and added black gems to the centres. The side panels were made from plain black paper and I doodled on them with a white pen.


I then added a piece of acetate over the front, which you can see better in this photo above

It might be a bit squashed now as I sent it to Zoe for her birthday which was yesterday - hope she liked it
