Row of Houses

Another PA inspired make, this time by Helen Chilton which you can see here. I stamped the row houses from the newly released LP #28 stamp plate, coloured them with gelatos and blended the colours, cut them out and mounted them on black card.

Cogs & Gears

Over at the PA blog Teresa Abajo show cased her card and atc using buttons which you can see here. Thinking along the same lines I made a tag using a cog stencil and instead of buttons added mini gears, some watch parts and prestuds.

The Green Man - PA Inspired

Over at the PA blog, Julie Ann has made 3 inspiring canvas projects each using a mini mask and shades of the colour green which you can see here, here and here.

I used a flat 6 x6 canvas board, gelatos to colour the background, a TH frameworks frame kindly sent to me by Lin. The mask is made from coloured UTEE, leaves are from Hero Arts. Stamping in green stazon using LP and Mini PA images. Wire twisted around a pen.

Abstract Collage

I loved what Ellen Vargo did on a recent blog post with dimensional paint which you can see here, so I decided to give it a go after picking up some Tulip paint from Hobby Lobby. So I started off creating a background by brayering some paints.

And adding some stamped images in black stazon ink and white acrylic paint using Ellens PA stamps.

Scribbled with the tulip paints in both black and white. I only had the matte soft gel so had to use that and it doesn't dry as transparent as the gloss alternative.

I added some more details with a black sharpie, black and white posca pens, but forgot to take a photo before I cut them all up and added the pieces of scribbled dimensional paint.

And I did exactly the same for this one but used the white dimensional paint scribbles.

Birthday Card

It's Martins dads birthday on Monday so I made him a quick card in a vintage style.

I'm also entering into A Vintage Journey challenge which is anything goes T!m Holtz style.

Last Day

This was the view from the balcony today. Lovely blue sky and the sun was beaming.

Unfortunately due to Martins injury yesterday, neither of us went skiing today, our last day here!!

So we went shopping and I picked up a few last bits. We also found a scrap book shop too and most of the papers were on clearance at 25 cents, approx 15p!!

And been as I'd not been up to the ski hill this visit, we went up there today and had a lovely lunch in one of the restaurants.

We then came back and packed, and yes, we got everything in!!

PA Inspired Card

Now don't laugh at my attempt, but when faced with using a plastic breakfast knife and one of the non slip coffee sleeves to create the blue dots, I was challenged - lol.

With no see through acrylic block, I had no idea where I was stamping the letters either!! Circles stamped with a body lotion lid compliments of the hotel!!

Emma Challenge

Due to my incapacity to ski, Emma set me another challenge. The theme was black, white and grey, use a stencil and circles. I'd bought a pair of trainers so attacked the box they came in for the base of the tag!! Mixed black and white paint and put it though the circles stencil.

I added the stamped circle swirls in black paint and also added black paint to the edges.

I stamped the words and image in black dye ink, cut them all out and mounted the words onto the reverse of the shoe box which happened to be black!!

Sorry about the quality of the photos, but the light in the hotel room is quite dim.

Michaels Haul

This is the last craft shop haul for this holiday. The bargain today was the 12 x 12 scrapbook album which was on clearance for $2.99.

The bezels were on offer too, I grabbed them all - lol. 6 x 6 canvas boards, Dymo black label tape, textured foam (for gelli plate prints), love those oriental stamps too, again on sale!!

A few more purchases

Heidi Swapp 12 x 12 stencil, Somerset Studio mag was from Barnes & Noble, a few more T!m bits from JoAnns and alphabet stamps on clearance for $1.97 (ie £1.20), gems of the matt variety and a kit of 10 Gelatos from Michaels. 

This wooden shadow box was on clearance for $2.49 (ie £1.52), scrapy tools by Martha Stewart, red paint, mini brads, white paint pens and a mini alphabet set. The silicon wedge was from Hobby Lobby which Martin picked up for me on his way back from the hill.

Each of the same brand stores carry slightly different stuff. We still have to hit the huge Michaels shop!!

More Tags

So again with my limited supplies I created this background using 2 colours of paint, olive green and yellow applied with a plastic breakfast knife!!

Stamped the circle swirls in white paint, added black dots. Stamped the other images in black dye ink and edged in black paint. 

Again paint applied with the breakfast knife, this time I used the yellow and blue and the overlap created the green.

As I quite like the background, I didn't want to cover too much of it up. I stamped the hexagons in white paint and stamped the word and film strip in black dye ink.

Colours are a bit weird as the light in the hotel room isn't fantastic.

Hobby Lobby Haul

Went to Hobbly Lobby last night, this is what I got!! All stamps had 40% off and I lurve wooden stamps, all stencils were on clearance for $2.99 (approx £1.80 in our money!!).

JoAnn Haul and Tags

Went Shopping to JoAnns yesterday, I wanted the full pad of the shattered collection papers but they only had the single sheets so I picked 3 up, along with Somerset Studio Gallery 2014, white card, canvas boards and a 7 gypsies wooden frame.

Loads of T!m Holtz idea-ology and other metal and wooden embellies.

More idea-ology, a couple of wooden stamps, paint and threads.

And some basic essentials which I wouldn't normally buy, but I have torn a calf muscle so at present can't ski, so needed glue, scissors, ink pad and baby wipes in order to keep myself entertained in the daytimes!!!

So with my limited supplies Emma set us a challenge to make something green with words on it and a time limit of an hour. This was no mean feat without a heat gun, but the hotel hair dryer came in handy!! Patterned papers, used both my new stamps and made a darker green paint using the blue for the circles.

And then I decided to make a second one too. Used rub ons, tissue tape, sharpies and paint.

Not up to my usual standard, but not bad considering what I had to play with!!
