2013 Calendar

Stampotique are kicking off the new year with a calendar / journal / diary page or cover.  I went for the calendar option, I did one page with a years calendar.

The background is an offcut from a piece made on the gelli plate workshop at AftH, mounted onto a piece of chipboard which was die cut with an on the edge die and painted blue.

The monsters and mushroom were stamped, coloured with distress ink makers, cut out and mounted onto the background.  The mushroom was a little dark and got lost in the blue background, so I lightened the blue with a white Artbar and outlined the image with a white Posca pen.

I printed off a calendar from a free Google download, cut the months into the same size, stapled them all together and attached them with twine.

I added a piece of ribbon to enable me to hang it from my computer desk.

Absolutely stunning artwork Sam - I have been visiting every time you post and drooling over your amazing variety of techniques - but have not been able to leave comments each time - purely as I'm fitting blog visiting in a small space of time at odd moments during the day or late at night.

Have a wonderful, and accident free New Year!

This looks more like a painting and I really love the scene. It would be a pity to glue the calendar pages on to it, so I think you made a wise choice to attach them as you did. Great creation Sam!!
Hugs,
Marianne

This is terrific Sam. Difficult to believe that you still have some of the gel backgrounds left but this one looks amazing on the calendar. Nice to have bright colours around to see you through the winter.

Love Chrissie xx

I love this Sam. I cannot wait for my Geli to arrive, it is a birthday present from my daughter and is a bit late. I think I am starting to scare the postman now as I wrench the door open each time he arrives and give him the " where is my Geli plate look" lol.

ME

My Photo
Hi I'm Sam, 43, birthday in October - Any piece of art gratefully rec'd - Thanks. OH, Martin, been together 23 years and still no plans to get married!!! We love spending time with our pupster, especially when the weather is dry and we get to take him to the woods. I love any sort of crafting and would say that I am adventurous with new materials. We love going skiing in any winter resort, but mainly the States or Canada, they have better snow!! We lost our first beardie, Max, August 2006 at a ripe old age of 14 and 1/4. Since then Frazzie has come along, he is now 6 years and 7 months old and is still a little Bugger, Bugger!!! Unfortunately in December 2008 we lost Alfie at 14 months old after only having a short time of 7 weeks loving and caring for him. He found a good buddie in Fraz and loved him to bits.
