Silks and Sprays

I came across this post by Dion Dior and loved what she did, so had a play myself.

This one didn't work properly as I had a bit of trouble with the masking fluid, ie it was too thick and lumpy, but I carried on with it and once I'd added the white splats and outlined the image in the white pen, it kind of came to life.

The colours of the dragonfly show better on this one as I got better coverage with the masking fluid and I also used lighter colours of sprays compared to the first one.

I outline the main image with a black smudgy pencil.

I used an open butterfly for this one and the smudgy pencil again.

I tried to show the shimmer on this one, but it's so dark outside today as it's raining, it's not come out too well.

Brusho Cards

Ended up making some cards today even though I was only meant to be having a play with Brushos.

This one has red, dark blue and turquoise Brusho stamped with a Stampendous dragonfly, a couple of solid flowers and the remember word by Clarity.

This one materialised after Emma showed me a photo of a card that she saw at the craft show at the weekend on the Lavinia stand. She bought the proper tree stamps, but I knew I had something like so used them instead, they are still from Lavinia. Lots of colours of Brushos were used for the background.

This is the offcut from the top piece and stamped with Lavinia thistles and a solid flower stamp and I used some of a tree branch to create some foliage along the bottom. Word stamp Clarity.

This one was purple and turquoise Brushos, again Lavinia stamps and another solid one. Word stamp Clarity.

This one was intentionally stamped twice to see what the effect would be and it came out okay really.  Background is the offcut of the other one with the trees on.

Christmas Gift Tags

Over on the PA blog Wanda used the new LB Christmas edition paints to make some fab Christmas cards which you can see here. I pretty much followed what she did to create the masterboards.

But instead of making cards, I made some gift tags using the small Clarity tree stamp kindly lent to me by a lovely friend and then I added some coloured fibres to the holes so they can be tied on.
