Steampunk / Gothic Chest / Coffin / Tomb

Painted a mini chest with black gesso, added some stenciling with black modeling paste. Add a section of a decoupage queens and kings 12 x 12 paper and some steampunk pieces.

This is the top of the lid.

I put a skull face on each of the smaller sides.

Stenciling on the back.

I put some of the papers inside and then a skeleton for good measure.

Added a couple of spiders and a chain as the lid was too heavy.

Next I added some fibre paste to the edges and corners.

Then it was just a case of colouring it up to how I wanted it to look.

It opens and closes perfectly.
It's available to buy in my online shop.

Follow Your Dreams

This is the middle sized huge mdf tag, measures approx 12" x 6.5" and I covered it with a piece of the Jane Davenport papers I got when I was on holiday.

I sprayed three mini boxes with DecoArt media misters, script stamped in white chalky paint and covered the edges with washi tape.

Next I found something to put in the boxes, these images were stamped onto fabric and cut to fit inside the boxes.

I die cut some letters from chipboard and coloured them with DecoArt media primary yellow, cyan and magenta paints.

I decided to place the boxes next to each other on the tag.

And the last couple of words painted in the same bright colours.

And this is the completed tag. I didn't want to cover up the lovely background papers too much.

That's Crafty have a challenge on this week of 'bright', so I'm entering this tag.

Sense of Time

Have no idea why but I'm on a box fetish at the moment!!  I just used the inner part of this box, ie not the lid and sort of used it as a shadow box. I painted it in silver lumiere paint, along with the embossed die cut wings.

This is the same thing laid on the desk. Middle is a clock face with spinners and a gear and fixed together with a brad.

I stamped the script from LP28 in black stazon on the sides of the box, and here you can see all the layers.

Artful Times have a theme of box clever.

Mini Chest

Over at the PA blog this week Julie Ann has been making a project using a suitcase which you can see here. I decided to play along with a little paper mache box.

Left is the inside of the lid and right is the inside of the box. The box was painted in a mix of mocca mousse and chocolate pudding fresco paints and the script was added in ice blue.

These are what I made to go inside the box. The tags were made from some of the images on LP030 and stamped in timber brown stazon.

And finally, here are all the bits inside the box.

I'm also entering into the Artful Times box clever challenge.

Shrine

Over at Out of a Hat Creations this week they have a fabulous theme of 'shrines'.  However, this did get me thinking as I don't have any ready made shrines!!!!  I wasn't really sure what I wanted to do or how I wanted to do it, so I just started playing with chipboard and the scallops on the edge die and basically came up with this.  I cut a rectangle out of the front piece to house the bottom of a small box which I painted with Fresco paints.  The feet on the bottom are cubes from a bobble!!  I'm not actually sure if this is a true shrine, but it's my version anyway!!

***Edited*** And this is it in daylight!!
