Journal Pages TM Style

A couple of weeks ago I cut out some magazine images and stuck them in my book. I used gelatos on this page with white pen.

I used zig pens for the background on this page.

I used zig pens and decoart translucent yellow iron oxide media on this page with black pen.

The yellow background is gelato and I used zig pens over the top.

I used sharpie pens on the background for this page.

And this one I just stuck the images down and left it, until today.

And this morning I added the background using a wash of cerulean blue premium decoart paint and then in a darker shade I used Kate Cranes hand carved stamp for the circles. Once dry I added some white paint dots. And after seeing it here, I think I am going to add the word, floating to the page.

Again, this was another page where I just stuck some images down and left it.

And I simply added a strip of red and blue gelato to finish it.

This is another page which needed finishing.

A wash of primary magenta premium acrylics and some stamping with black stazon using Seths border stamps and some white dots with a pen.

Then this one I made this morning using an old credit card and decoart premium paints which I scraped on the page. I used bubble wrap with the pink and then white paint and pen tops for the circles. The pink and white lines were created using the edge of the credit card. The words were stamped in black stazon.

A Couple of Oxide Tags

Created the background with the distress oxides. Seth border stamps and my new steampunk man stamped in timber brown stazon and then an Andy Skinner stamp lightly stamped in the background.

And more or less the same with this one. Seth border stamp, Andy skinner main images and background stamp all stamped in timber brown stazon.

And the pair side by side.

Explore Everything Tag

Ooooh it's been, and still is, so hot today. I was urging to do something but I really was so hot and bothered, however I did manage this tag using Seth's stamps and dies and distress oxides. I finally cracked open the fossilized amber! The good thing is, it's great weather to get a decent photo!

Oxides Play

So this morning I only had a couple of hours to play as due to going out yesterday, I had to go food shopping which is a pain on a Sunday as they don't open until 10am. So when I'd got back, I cracked open the nine oxides and had a play.

I didn't really have anything in mind, I just wanted to try them on different surfaces, differing amounts of water and different colour combos, so this is what I ended up with.

I decided to cut this piece in half and also have a play with my new to me Seth Apter stamp sets, I got two sets of boarders and the rotary set. I'm hoping to find a suitable focal image for the one on the left.

I also had a play with my new to me Andy Skinner stamp sets too. I used coloured stazon as I wanted to know how it would stand up on the oxides background.

I just simply stamped with black stazon on this one.

Was curious to know how the black stazon would work against the walnut stain oxide.

And finally I decided to stamp with the oxides and I have to say, I'm very impressed with how they stamp.

Unfortunately it's a bit dull outside today, ie no sun, so the photos look slightly darker than the actual pieces do in real life.

Mail Art Envies

I decorated some DL envies to send my bookmark swaps in. I used stamps from Seth's solar system set in coloured stazon and a variety of word stamps using black stazon.

And these are the backs. I lightly brayered the fronts and backs with various colours of paint.

The new theme over at PaperArtsy is fonts and quotes, so I am entering this post.

A Couple of Male Birthday Cards

I needed a couple of male birthday cards for later this week and I thought Seth's dies would be perfect for that male touch. Layered up lots of shades of fresco paints in blues and browns. Lightly stamped some of the images in Seth's solar system set in blue and brown stazon. I coloured the brown set of dies with french roast and the blue set are actually double embossed using blue wow powders, I don't have any in brown!! But, can you spot the deliberate mistake probably not on the photo, but on the right card, I meant to put the die cut with the 'x' on the bottom and the drips over the top, but I stuck the drips one on first by mistake!! Not to worry, it still looks okay!!

And I'm also sneaking these into the PaperArsty challenge this week.

Circles Journal Page

This page was already started with a base layer of grey. I built up the layers with various colours of fresco paints and stamped in chalk and stone.

Used a purple posca pen, a black micron pen and a white sharpie to outline and add doodling. It is a lot brighter in real life.

PaperArtsy have a theme of die cuts this week, so I'm entering with Seth's spellbinders sets.

Atc Trio

Had a quick play today using DecoArt paints and Spellbinders dies. Nothing too complex, a bit of stamping and finished off with some doodling.

Atc's

I was inspired by Lesley to make these. She had her first play with her gelli plate yesterday, pop over to see how she got on here. I used left overs for mine.

The background for this one was made using a Prima bubbles stencil. I added stamping in black stazon and edged with black soot distress ink.

The background of this one was created using a foam plate that I made, stamping into the gelli plate after the paint has been applied. Stamped the Dina lady and the Andy Skinner text in olive stazon. Edged in walnut stain distress ink.

The background on this one was created with stencils and a foam stamp. The Seth stamp from the Solar System set was stamped first in olive green. I masked off the Andy Skinner eye stamp and the word and stamped in back stazon. I used white sharpie pen on the eye. Edged with walnut stain distress ink.

PaperArtsy have a theme of mono printing this week.

CAS Journal Page

PaperArtsy have a theme of white space for their current challenge, so this was a perfect way for me to get back into it after not being too well this week. I stamped the largest of the images from Seths Solar System Set in Cactus green stazon. I chose three colours of chalky paint and stamped with a bottle top. I then chose a darker green and scraped some paint with a credit card, lastly stamped the word hope.

All paint products are from DecoArt.
