JoAnn Haul and Tags

Went Shopping to JoAnns yesterday, I wanted the full pad of the shattered collection papers but they only had the single sheets so I picked 3 up, along with Somerset Studio Gallery 2014, white card, canvas boards and a 7 gypsies wooden frame.

Loads of T!m Holtz idea-ology and other metal and wooden embellies.

More idea-ology, a couple of wooden stamps, paint and threads.

And some basic essentials which I wouldn't normally buy, but I have torn a calf muscle so at present can't ski, so needed glue, scissors, ink pad and baby wipes in order to keep myself entertained in the daytimes!!!

So with my limited supplies Emma set us a challenge to make something green with words on it and a time limit of an hour. This was no mean feat without a heat gun, but the hotel hair dryer came in handy!! Patterned papers, used both my new stamps and made a darker green paint using the blue for the circles.

And then I decided to make a second one too. Used rub ons, tissue tape, sharpies and paint.

Not up to my usual standard, but not bad considering what I had to play with!!

Queen of Hearts

I'm trying to play along with T!m's 12 tags for 2013 and so far this year, I'm keeping up, yes I know it's only the second one!!  Did have a bit of improvising to do as you can see!!  I used a couple of mini playing cards and doodled around the outsides!!

Also over at Anything But A Card they have a theme of 'share the love', and I think this tag fits in perfectly.

And Happy Daze have a theme of 'love is all around' so I'm entering over there as well.

2013 Calendar

Stampotique are kicking off the new year with a calendar / journal / diary page or cover.  I went for the calendar option, I did one page with a years calendar.

The background is an offcut from a piece made on the gelli plate workshop at AftH, mounted onto a piece of chipboard which was die cut with an on the edge die and painted blue.

The monsters and mushroom were stamped, coloured with distress ink makers, cut out and mounted onto the background.  The mushroom was a little dark and got lost in the blue background, so I lightened the blue with a white Artbar and outlined the image with a white Posca pen.

I printed off a calendar from a free Google download, cut the months into the same size, stapled them all together and attached them with twine.

I added a piece of ribbon to enable me to hang it from my computer desk.

Christmas Packages

Remember my custom stamps from last week, well I decided to use them again.  This time to make some little packages with the TH movers and shapers pocket envelope die.  I am going to use them to put some money in for my niece and nephews for Christmas.

And this is the back which I left plain, as they will just throw them once they have taken the money out!!!

This week Out of a Hat Creations are asking to see Christmas wrapping, packages or boxes.

Eyes Down

This week over at the PanPastelUK challenge blog their theme is 'good luck' so I decided to try my luck at a game of bingo, by making a good luck bingo tag.  I know it's pretty hard to see from the photo, but the piece of metal at the top says 'good' and the charm at the bottom attached to the twine says 'luck'.  The background is forest moss, crushed olive and brushed pewter distress stains, edged in vintage photo distress ink.  I stamped the bingo plate on to a thick piece of vellum and lightly coloured it with permanent green shade (640.3) pan pastel. Well you just knew I had to use some somewhere been as it's the pan pastel challenge.
