RIP Tombstone (2)

I painted a few resin pieces in black.

I added some fibre paste onto the board at the top, then some halloween fabric underneath and lower down.

Glued everything down and waited for it to dry, whilst I worked on the bottom shelf.

Then I put it all together.

I used mini light bulbs in the eye sockets.

The treasure gold has brought out the texture at the top from the fibre paste.

This is for sale on my website here.

Skull Sketchbook

I decided to use mostly wooden shapes on the front of this sketchbook cover.

I used purple and pink metallics on the front cover.

Painted all the pieces black and then stuck them onto the cover.

I used metallic paints to paint the black wooden and resin shapes.

Close up of the right side.

Close up of the left side.

Close up of the centre piece.

This is the back which I have kept flat so it's easy to use.

This is the front and back when it's opened out.

And this is the inside. The paper is a bit rougher and it's cream, it's called a sketchbook and measures approx 8.2" x 5.5".

Decorated A5 Journal Covers

I went out on Thursday and met up with a FB friend that I've never met before. We had a lovely day and called into Hobby Craft and TKMaxx in Derby.  I picked up a couple of Seawhite hard backed journals along with a few other bits.

I picked up this pack of napkins in TKMaxx.

Then I set to and decorated the outside front and back covers.

I used the napkin on the back as I wanted to keep it flat so it's easier to write in.

And there are resin pieces on the front.

Altered Bottle using Natural Products

I was gifted another couple of gin bottles.

Painted them with black powertex.

Put on a coat of metallic green paint, then a coat of PVA glue, then a coat of black powertex and used the heat gun to make cracks to reveal the green underneath.

I used some natural bits and pieces that I found whilst foraging.

I stuck them onto the bottle with heavy body gel as I didn't want to ruin the background.

Then as I wanted them to go hard and be sealed, I carefully painted them all in a layer of black powertex and left them overnight to dry.

I was very kindly gifted some terragreen powertex pigment and I just love it so I had to use it on this arrangement.  I then added some gold over the top as well.

And a close up of the front.

Another Altered Disaronno Bottle

Another empty Disaronno bottle courtesy of my neighbours recycle bin!

I gave the bottle a coat of black powertex and then laid some resin mould casts until I liked the layout.

The painted everything with a coat of black powertex and used it as a glue too.

And I decided to use lots of different coloured metallic acrylics to paint the elements.

Then I decided to put some stones in the eye sockets.  I can't decide if I want anything on the bottle top yet.

I decided I did.

View from the sides and top.

And finally a view from the top.

Altered Southern Comfort Bottle

Empty Southern Comfort bottle.

Using the stone art clay I carefully peeled out the very large cog and moulded it onto the bottle and left it to dry as I wanted it to hug the bottle.

Laid wooden, resin and metal embellishments out until I liked what I'd done.

Stuck and painted all the embellishments with black powertex.

Then I went a bit mad with the colours.

Altered Paint Brushes

Found a pack of three paint brushes to alter.

I used clay to make the face on this one.

I was hoping this one would turn out like an angel, or something along those lines.

And of course, I couldn't forget the darker side.

Used black powertex and stuck everything down.

As you can see, I am no good at creating faces from clay, nor colouring them!!!

From the darker side, this one is in a gothic style.

And finally, my attempt at an angel!!
