Up-cycled Skeleton Plaque

This is the front of a kitchen drawer that was being thrown out.

Painted it with black gesso then used grunge paste through a couple of stencils.

Once dried, I painted over it in black gesso.

I made a mould from a skeleton that I was given by a friend. Then I cast it in fast cast resin.

Got a few more bits and bobs out and started to build a composition.

Dry brushed the background with silver to bring out the texture from the stencils.

I used various purples and blues to paint the background pieces.

Close up of the top of the composition.

The skeleton clothing is coloured with pewter treasure gold and the bones of the skelly are coloured with old white matte wax by Finn.

I painted the cross gold as I wanted it to stand out.

Another close up of the various elements.

And finally, the finished piece.

I usually paint all the different embellishments / elements before I stick them down, but this time I glued them down, painted everything black and then added colour.

Steampunk Kettle

Another car boot find painted in black gesso.

Then I started building it up with resin and metal steampunk embellishments.

Got to a point where I thought there was enough on there.

I moulded some of the pieces onto the kettle before they were completely dry and hardened.

I painted it all black.

I used renaissance treasure gold to bring out the textures and hi-lights.

A few close ups. Really pleased how it turned out.

Gothic Style Shaker Plaque

After watching a 'free' youtube video class by the lovely Anna aka Finnabair, I made this.

A shaker plaque made from recycled wood and a plastic dome.

Close up of the shaker part of the plaque.

The bat looked a bit plain so I added a rub on.

Close up of the bottom left corner.

Close up of the top right corner.

Close up of bottom right ish corner.

And the image of what is in the shaker is revealed.

Close up of the dome shaped shaker.

And finally a close up of the top left corner.

RIP Bottle

A quick bottle make from me today.  Was too cold to spend too much time in the dining room.

And this is the back.

Journal Covers

I painted a couple of journal covers in black and then I started to play around with some resin shapes.

I used some metal embellishments too.

I have made these to sell on my stall at my last craft fair for this year.

I used copper tones for the embellies on this cover.

The photos are rubbish as it's rained all day long and it was dark by 3pm.

Skull & Cog Plate

I painted another plate with black powertex.

I then painted it in pewter metallic acrylic and pulled out a few pieces to decorate it with.

I arranged them how I wanted them on the plate.

And then I coloured it up in purples and blues.

And I took this photo outside in the sun this morning which is a truer representation of the colours.

And a view from the left.

And the right.

This is now for sale in my on-line shop.

Green Man Plate

This is a plate that I was given who wasn't keen on the colour.

Painted it in black powertex, coated a piece of t-shirt fabric, scrunched it up and placed it in the middle and then placed the green man in the centre.

Whilst still a bit tacky I placed some resin, wooden and natural pieces around the centre piece.

I coated everything in powertex and then used treasure gold and alchemy waxes to bring out the different textures.

Then I took some photos outside which represents a truer colour.

Close up of the green man in the middle.

And another close up of the right side.

And the bottom.

This is now for sale in my on-line shop.
