Napkin Background Tags

Spritzed a layer of plain napkin with water and added droplets of distress re-inkers.

Once dry, I stuck it to a piece of card.

Used gesso to tone it down a bit.

Chopped it up into tag sized pieces.

Added various colours of gelatos and distress crayons.

Cut them into tag shapes and sewed around the edges.

Added some tissue papers to the top two smaller tags.

Next I added some script stamping in timber brown stazon.

Added various embellishments and a paper doll.

And the same with this one.

Finished tags side by side.

Tag Inspired by Kate - PA

Over at the PA blog this week there is a new DT, Kate Yetter. Now Kate has created a journal cover which you can see here. I took her day 2 idea and created a tag using one of my gelli plate prints from yesterday. 

Close up of the stamping over the gesso which hasn't come out perfect due to the ridges created by the pallet knife when applying, but I quite like it.

Day 2 - Mixed Media Layering

Day 2 of CC102 was all about T!m's new layering stencils of which I do not own any!!  I improvised and used what I had.  Now down the left I've used the mini ledger but you can't see it as I used antique linen through it.  I put broken china through the mini cubes.

Coloured the background and you can just sort of see parts of the ledger stencil.  I think next time I probably need to put a bit more paint on!!

Added various colours of distress ink and flicked some water over it. You can still just about make out the original stencilling.

And finally went back in with a bit more stencilling.

Harlequin Canvas

This time I used neat texture paste through the crafters workshop harlequin stencil directly onto the canvas.  

I painted it with limelight fresco paint and hi-lighted areas with aquamarine and sapphire treasure gold.  The word 'dream' was die cut from a movers & shapers die and again hi-lighted with the same colours of treasure gold.  It was backed with a piece of tissue paper coloured with distress re-inkers and 4 green pearly gems added.  The image is a transfer as per yesterdays post.  The small words are from the dark room door set I recently picked up for a fiver, stamped with black stazon, cut out and mounted onto the canvas.

Christmas Cards in October

I've been wanting to try this out for ages, really just to see if it does actually work!!  It's the custom stamp technique using Cut n Dry felt and distress re-inkers a~la T!m style.

Well as you can see, it does work!!

Lots of the same thing, well they are all slightly different, but more or less the same!!

Then I made some more.  A very quick way to make 20+ Christmas cards!!

So over at Out of a Hat Creations Florence has a Christmas theme going on each week throughout October, and this week happens to be cards or tags, so this fits in perfectly.
