Another Book Page Play

I made a few more embellishments as I'd not done anything previously in green. I also played around with some layouts.

And another layout using my new to me spellbinder border dies.

And another one with a few alterations.

Then when I went to stick it in my black book, I realised that I'd made it the wrong way round. Sums up the day I had really!

I treated myself to some border and oriental dies.

Journal Page

I wanted to use the 'waste' from the Seth die cuts in some way, so here's what I came up with.

Added the eyes from another image and swapped them over!

Added some dots and doodling.

Whitened the eyes and the teeth and gave her some luscious lashes.

PaperArtsy have a theme of die cuts, and I'm entering my page.

Circles Journal Page

This page was already started with a base layer of grey. I built up the layers with various colours of fresco paints and stamped in chalk and stone.

Used a purple posca pen, a black micron pen and a white sharpie to outline and add doodling. It is a lot brighter in real life.

PaperArtsy have a theme of die cuts this week, so I'm entering with Seth's spellbinders sets.

Atc Trio

Had a quick play today using DecoArt paints and Spellbinders dies. Nothing too complex, a bit of stamping and finished off with some doodling.

Time Canvas

I took an 8 x 10 canvas board and glued various items to it, ie chipboard letters and numbers, spellbinder dies and some stencilling with grunge paste.  Then painted over everything with gesso.

And coloured it with sprays, inks, primary elements and treasure gold.  I added some DecoArt media texture sand paste too.  I basically just kept going until I was happy with the colour.

Close up of the letters.

Close up of the top right corner.

And the bottom right corner.

Over at Pan PastelUK they have a theme of add some bling, well I used so much treasure gold that I think this will count!!!

Steampunk Hanger

I needed a bit of a release this afternoon, and over at ABAC blog, they have a theme of Steampunktember, so I decided to play along with my cogs, gears and time pieces and assembled them as above to make a hanging.

I die cut the shapes in chipboard, painted them in various metalics and black to try and give a rusted effect. Then did the large wings in pewter and put them through the script embossing folder, and the smaller set in copper.

Thank You Gift

Made a thank you gift with my WRMK envelope punch board for a friend who did me a huge favour a while back. Not saying who it was or what they did, but I was very grateful.

Inside is a pack of notelets with matching envelopes and a mini book all made from gelli prints.

Changing Faces

Another piece of chipboard randomly covered with grunge paste, painted with various colours of fresco, haystack, Spanish mulberry, stone and cinnamon.  I stamped the image in black stazon onto crackly tissue paper. Using my new spellbinders sprockets set I cut the gear from very thin cardboard. I coloured a piece of acetate in latte, ginger and caramel, ran it through an embossing folder and attached with T!m's tiny attacher.

I added another of my Utee embellishments.

Christmas Decs

I found myself confined to the dining room for over 2 hours today whilst we had a Tivo box installed, as I had to keep Fraz out the way. It was only supposed to be a matter of changing the boxes over, but it didn't go well. So with that in mind I decided to make something.  I flattened 3 bottle tops in my Big Shot, die cut some snowflakes in patterned paper and began to assemble. Now this is as much bling as you'll see me use, some distress stickles which I found whilst looking for the liquid leaf. Thought they would make nice tree decs.

Whilst rummaging I also found a blank slideshow slide minus the film. I painted it with white fire liquid leaf. Cut out an image from a Crafty Individuals Christmas book of images and also a piece of acetate the same size. Stamped the Merry Christmas and double mounted it. Added a few stars which cut out with the snowflakes above to try and hide where the name is stamped into the slide, sandwiched a piece of ribbon between the frame and the backing piece.

And finally a piece of 2" x 2" stampbord coloured with iced spruce distress ink. Again used an image from the same Crafty Individuals book.  Stamped the sentiment and the stars and used the scrapy tool to etch into the stampbord.

Over at the Arty Inklings blog there is crimble challenge and you can submit anything with a Christmas theme, but it has to have stamping on it, so I'm entering again.

Winter Wonderland

Out of a Hat Creations are asking for a winter theme this week.  So I went for simple tag and some spellbinder snowflakes.  The words were stamped in versamark and embossed in white wow powders.

**Edited** Ooooh, don't you just love it when the sun comes out, these are the more truer colours!!

I'm also entering this into the Happy Daze December challenge which is 'in the deep mid winter'. You have to use at least one product from the shop, so my product is distress ink.

Music Tag

Over at Out of a Hat Creations this week they are asking for 'music'. Was a bit stumped with this one as I don't have much in the way of musical things, but the lovely Helen sent me some of T!m's tissue wrap (melange) in the post and it just happened to be of the music variety.  So I cut a piece big enough to wrinkle over a tag. I gave it a coat of brushed corduroy distress ink.  I stamped the Hampton Arts image in black Stazon and cut it with a spellbinder nesties die.  Added a piece of card which had been run through the rough diamond Cuttlebug embossing folder, stapled on a piece of crumpled crunchy wax paper and covered the mini staples with T!m's music tissue tape.  Everything was edged with onyxite treasure gold from Paperartsy.

AJ - Round

This month over at Art Journey they have chosen the theme of 'round'.  I used a cog stencil with turquoise tint (580.8) pan pastel over black card.  I cut some spellbinder circles from patterned paper and gave them a coat of watered down honey dew fresco paint.  I stamped various images onto each circle and mounted them over the cogs.  I mounted the whole piece onto white and then black at opposite corners.

Unfortunately this isn't the best photo but the weather is really dull - sorry!!!

Artful Times - Challenge 1

To get the Artful Times new challenge blog off to a flying start we decided to go with a free for all theme but whatever you chose it must be created on a tag. I used various mediums to create the background, dylusion sprays, glimmer mist and distress stains.  I stamped the grunge alphabet over the tag and hi-lited some of the letters with a white pen.  I cut the umbrella man from chipboard and painted him with black acrylic.  I used honeycomb paper to make the top of his umbrella more prominent.  I stamped one of T!m's mini quotes onto a nesties panel and inked the edges in black soot distress ink.  I coloured a piece of material with distress stain to make my own ribbon.

A closer look at the honeycomb paper.

Hop over to the blog to see what everyone else has created and if you feel inspired, why not join in.
