Knit & Stitch Show - Harrogate

Thank you to Colourcraft for my winning complimentary ticket into the Knit & Stitch Show, it came in very useful. I did drop by the stall a couple of times to say thanks but it was sooooo busy and they were helping customers, so didn't get to speak to them.

This was the stand that sold Wensleydale raw fleece. They also had some wool already spun and dyed and some dyed locks.

Lovely detailed textile pieces which include lots of fabric and stitching.

More images from the same stall.

One of the aisles in hall A, still pretty busy and buzzing.

And Kim on the Vlieseline stall. I did try to say hi, but she was busy talking.

And a few photos of the aisles.

This was a spinning stall and there was a lady demonstrating on a wooden spinning wheel. They sold items for spinning and felting so I bought a couple of bits from them.

A close up of the items on the Spin City stand.

This was the artists in action section.

I didn't actually see what any of them were doing, as everyone was chatting.

This is the Oliver Twist stand where I bumped into Robyn, the lady who taught the needle felting santa workshop at Lincolnshire Show Ground a couple of weeks ago!

The orange display board at Oliver Twists.

There were tubs full of mullbery silk and other things. It was 18p a gram which was kind of nice, as you could mix and match both colours and materials, so I got some.

Another felting stand, but this was more kits and a few bags of colours of merino tops.

The Art Van Go stand was as busy as ever.

Then lastly a couple of the displays near the main entrance.

And this is all I bought. I went with the intention of buying much more, but dyed batts seem to be very hard to get hold of so will probably end up having to do some internet shopping.

These were caps (which I think are the same as hankies) and the 18p per gram mix from Oliver Twists.

These were from the Spin City stand.

On the left is a piece of pre-felt out the bargain bin and on the right is the only batted corriedale wool I found, but they only had it in this grey colour.

Three small pieces of velvet. I've been after some pieces of velvet for a while, but not managed to find any.

Spaced dyed cotton scrim from 21st century yarns.

All this came out of that little bag!

And that was my day out.

Knit and Stitch Show Harrogate

Yesterday I took a lovely drive over to Harrogate, the weather was lovely compared to the heavy rain of the last few days. I visited the Knit & Stitch Show. I didn't take my camera with me, so no photos of the actual show, which this year was much better organised. These are my purchases. More or less got everything that I went for too.

Knit & Stitch Show Harrogate

Met Emma today in Harrogate outside the International Centre for the Knit and Stitch Show.  These are some canvas's I spotted at ColourCraft.

We'd arranged to meet up with Neet and Wendy later in the afternoon.

And then Wendy took one of the three of us.

And this is what I bought, some cotton scrim, dissolvable Fabric, small stipple brush, red and blue bead seeds, red liner tape, pipettes and decovil which is like a thicker vilene but with a leather feel.

Knit & Stitch Show Harrogate

Emma on the bling, bling stall!!!

As you can see, it was relatively empty, in previous years it's been heaving, but then I've never been on a Sunday before.

This was on display at the Stef Francis stand.

And then in a different colour set.

This was mounted on a canvas.

A display of silk rods.

Then Emma got brave and bought a kit. When it's complete it will look something like this.

This is the same photo with the colour enhanced so you can see a bit more of the detail.

There was this bead stall there, one of many, except this one displayed all beads by colours - lush.

And finally my purchases. I managed to get everything on the list and also picked up a few other bargains along the way.

And we topped it off by stopping off at The Kestrel Inn for a lovely meal on the way back.

Knit & Stitch Show

I treat myself to a day off and a trip to Harrogate today.  I went to the knit and stitch show where I picked up these goodies above.  There were more paper craft stands there this year.  I have been after that TH car stamp in wood for absolutely ages so I was well impressed.

This is one of the creations on the Stef Francis stand using the silk rods.

So is this one.

These two were stunning in real life and again on the Stef Francis stand where I got most of my fabric stuff from.

Knit & Stitch Show - Harrogate

Well we braved the weather and went to the Knit and Stitch show at Harrogate yesterday.  As you can see from the above goodies, we had a good day.  Have to say though, some of the things I bought I have no idea what to do with - yet!!!!

These are some of the wonderful exhibits on display.

Some incorporate materials that I have no idea how to use, so the photos are for inspiration.

Unfortunately there were lots of stalls that did not allow photography.

(above) This is a bag made from silk rods and was on the Stef Francis stand.
(below) This was one of the fab display boards on the Oliver Twist stand.

These pieces were made from fused plastics and were being exhitibited in the main hall.

This is a second piece by the same person.  It has been stitched into (the word invisible at the top and the letters earth have been cut away).

It was absolutely stunning in the flesh and it was my favourite piece.
