Cabinet Frames and Cards

Mr T!m Holtz of Idea-ology has just brought out a fabulous release of new items.  However, some of them to me are 'convenience items' and can easily be made from what you already have.  Therefore, I decided to make my own.

So I made a masterboard from scraps, cut out rectangles and ovals using dies to create the frames.

And I was left with the middle parts, so win win.

I then made some tag shapes and covered them in various background papers.

I also decided to make some more clusters as I was going along as I wanted to try and incorporate them somehow in the tags and frames.

And this is what I ended up with.  The three tags on the right have three of the above clusters incorporated in them.

Accordion Book

The front

First couple of pages.

Lots of tag pockets on these two pages.

More pockets to add tags into.

This is the back.

The back sides of the pages

Just one pocket on this one so it didn't get too bulky.

I watched a series of 4 youtube videos by Tracie Fox and was inspired to make an accordion book.

Skull Candle Display

Stencilled modelling paste onto an 8" circle of mdf.

Made some skull casts from my homemade mould.

A friend sent me three huge church pillar candles.

Using the smallest candle as a centre piece, I created this using the skulls and various cogs and gears.

Each of the skulls has a different design.

And a view from the above of the different sides.

Love the gothic look of this one brought out by the purples.

Having looked at the photos I decided that the candle needed something else, so I added the silver coloured strip around the top.

Explore Everything Tag

Ooooh it's been, and still is, so hot today. I was urging to do something but I really was so hot and bothered, however I did manage this tag using Seth's stamps and dies and distress oxides. I finally cracked open the fossilized amber! The good thing is, it's great weather to get a decent photo!

Fathers Day Cards

A couple of quick fathers day cards, one for Martin's dad and one for mine.  This is actually red, but looks pink and is from a gelli print page with a stamped Stampotique figure.

This one is for my dad and has bits of TH idea-ology and other findings on it.

Holiday Scrapbook Pages

So I have finally finished all my scrapbook pages of our holiday photos. Don't worry, I won't bore you with them all. I've just selected a few to share with you, this is the front page.

Those of you who know me know by now that I don't do anything fancy as to me it's the photos that should be the centre piece.

Simple matting and layering.

Martin went on a snowcat ride and he got to sit in the front of the cab.

Plain card stamped with snowflakes in decoart chalky white paint (everlasting).

All in all I ended up with 27 pages and now need to buy some more page protectors as there is only enough for 20 in the book I have!

APC Swap - Mini Marvels

I'm in a FB group called Mini Marvels run by the lovely Chris. She had organised a swap of 9 altered playing cards. Here are my lovely collection of swaps. You can see the ones I made for the swap here.

The second part of the challenge, should you wish to take it up, was to create something to display or to keep them in. So I started to play around with a 12" x 12" sheet of paper.

Once I'd sussed out the measurements I moved on to doing it for real with black card and patterned papers.

I decided on a black and white theme of stripes and dots.

Stuck everything down, added some lettering and rounded the flaps.

And this is the back, or should I say the outside, continuing with the black and white and stripey and dots theme.

I then decided to add more info to the bottom of the pockets.

This is the book folded up, so this is the front cover.

And this is the back cover, the end sleeve is folded inside.

I decided not to add any closures as it wouldn't sit flat if I did and I will probably display it open so I can see the contents.

This is how it looks with the flaps down, obviously they don't sit totally flat as some of the fab contents have texture.

I thought I'd finished but the top flaps looked too plain, so I got my white sharpie pen out and added some dots and lines, now I'd finished.

Then we took Fraz for a walk and it hit me, duh what a total wholly, they are not A T C's, they are A P C's!!! Luckily enough for me, all it meant was that I had to stick a P over the T - now it's definitely finished.

Scrapbook Pages - Holiday 2015

Just to let you know that these pages are all extremely plain and simple, and most photos are just matt and layered and placed on a 12 x 12 piece of card with a few stickers thrown in, but that's just how I wanted them to be as I like the photos to be the main focus. So this is the front page with the abbreviations of the states we visited.

And then our journey from Utah to Wyoming began and we also went through Idaho along the way.

We stopped over at a lovely place called Bucks T-4.

And skied at Big Sky, Montana.

Steep downhill pitch.

The top photo of this page is taken from the highest point we could get to via the tram.

And opposite is another resort owned by a private ski club!!

Then on the way back down to Wyoming, we didn't realise until we went past the sign, that we actually dipped into Yellowstone, so we went back to get a photo!! Below is one of the snow coaches that take visitors around the park in winter.

I've always wanted to see a Bison or it's other name, a buffalo, and as we were coming back through Idaho, we found a whole herd of them in a field. Not quite what I was expected as I wanted to see a wild one, but this was good enough for now!! And when we were back in Utah the deer came on the front of the B&B we were staying in.

Whilst still in Yellowstone I saw a wolf and when we pulled into a layby he was just joining his 3 mates. You probably can't see on the bottom photo, but there are 4 wild wolves there, glad the water was between us!!

Then we stopped off for a ski in Targhee before heading back to Utah.

Next we hit Powder Mountain, except this year, there wasn't much powder, in fact the snow depth was extremely low because in all our years of going we have never ever seen the car in the creek!!

And finally the snow came!! Only 4 x 4's or chains were allowed up the canyon.

And the next day was a blue sky day, so we went to Snowbird.

And so did everyone else, I'm not sure if you can see the queue's at the lift in the top photo.

And we took a trip up the cable car and took a photo of it one the way down.

And finally the full moon rising from out balcony.

Thanks for looking xx
