Clockwork Muse

I took a piece of wood from the shed, cut a piece of black lace and I also wanted to incorporate the plastic film strip. Then I started to lay embellishments down.

And I just kept building up the layers.

I finished it off with a frame and a face in a pocket watch piece of chipboard.

I stuck everything down including the piece of tissue paper on the bottom right hand corner.

I gesso'd with the white.

Then used chest of gold paint, aged brass wax and finally patina green wax to highlight the edges.

Mechanical Elements

I arranged and stuck down an array of different resin elements with nothing in mind of what I was going to do with the rest of the project!!

I added a steampunk industrial paper to the bottom and then stencilled over the top of it with 3d gel so it would be clear when dry. I used various different types of paints on the resin pieces until I got what I liked.

I printed, cut out the added the AHW image. I printed it out quite large to fit in the bottom corner.

I added some metal cogs to the image.

I added some gold coloured wax to bring the background out as I'd used clear 3d gel.

Steampunk Moths

 

With not much of an idea in mind, I started laying out some resin pieces on a wooden panel.

Gave the substrate a coat of white crackle and also added pieces of Prima Re-Design Poly Decor.

Stuck everything down and gave it a couple of coats of gesso.

I mixed some mica powders with acrylic extender and made a paste which I painted over the crackle.

I used a different colour or mica powder and painted the steampunk moths.

I painted the main elements with Finnabair metallique rustic brown paint.

Added some waxes until I liked what I'd go.  I decided only to use the large steampunk moth in the end.  Added some TH words from the sticker book.

Slate Dragon Plaque

 

I turned the above Merry Christmas slate plaque into the background as seen below using a stencil, modelling paste and acrylic paints.

Then I started to lay out some resin pieces, I was trying to create a mystical vibe.

Chose corresponding metallic pigments and paints to colour the resin and metal pieces with.

And here it is finished, looking good hanging on the wall.

RIP Bottle

A quick bottle make from me today.  Was too cold to spend too much time in the dining room.

Lady in Shadows Plaque

 

I arranged some embellishments on a piece of wood covered in black powertex.

I decided that I needed to create some texture, so I used fibre paste.

Once dry, I used three different colours of iridescents and covered the whole of the background.

Then I coloured the embellishment pieces and changed my mind about the layout.

A couple more pen / paint pots

 

I wrapped a couple of coffee tins in t-shirt fabric and glued on the resin embellishments with the wet powertex.

I used the blue sparks paint to decorate this pot.

It really does bring out the textures.

I dry brushed this tin with silver and black finnabair jewel paste.

I used small cogs and faces on this one.

Another Spanner Plaque

 

I covered a piece of wood with t-shirt fabric that had been coated in black powertex. I placed the resin pieces and the spanner on the plaque whilst the fabric was still wet.

Once dry, I added a few more cogs and some colour to bring out the textures.
