Mail Art Envies

I decorated some DL envies to send my bookmark swaps in. I used stamps from Seth's solar system set in coloured stazon and a variety of word stamps using black stazon.

And these are the backs. I lightly brayered the fronts and backs with various colours of paint.

The new theme over at PaperArtsy is fonts and quotes, so I am entering this post.

More Bookmarks

I made this set of bookmarks in exactly the same way I made the previous two sets, using the die cut shapes, the tissue paper and the cut out images.

There are 7 of us playing in the swap and I am sending to everyone, so I needed a couple more to be able to send everyone a couple, so I decided to take a different approach and ended up with these, which I am entering into this weeks PaperArsty challenge of squares and grids.

Miniature House

Over on Mini Marvels FB group Chris has set a challenge called miniature houses and we basically have free reign to make what we want for the swap, so I decided to go down the matchbox style route, but added a roof. I made the basic matchbox shape using pieces of chipboard. I found an image in a magazine and this more or less determined the size I ended up with, approx 9 cm x 7 cm.

I did exactly the same for the other side of the box. I stuck patterned paper on for the roof and stamped it in timber brown stazon with an Andy Skinner background stamp.

And this is what's inside.

Bookmarks for a Swap

I brayered about 4 different colours of decoart multi surface satin paint onto a piece of 8"x8" white card. I die cut some Seth shapes and coloured them in a contrasting colour and stuck them to the card. I stuck tissue paper over the top of everything.

I did exactly the same with this one but used a different colour pallet and different die cut shapes.

Once completely dry I cut the edges down and added some more colour using the paints in the media misters. I applied them with a babywipe.

And for this one I used the green, yellow and turquoise shimmer media mister.

Then to tone it down a bit, I went over some areas with white gesso.

And the same for this one.

Next I added some random stamping using stazon inks.

And again applied the same process to this one.

And the last step for the background was to again use gesso to knock back some of the stamping.

And again, the same for this one.

Next I cut each piece of card into strips of 4, cut out some Teesha Moore images and words, and stuck them onto the backgrounds.

And the same for this set. I used matte decoupage glue to stick them down.

And for the final step, I added a piece of ribbon to each piece.

I made these for a swap for a group I have recently joined on FB.

Halloween Atc's

I started off with stamping the webs in versamark and heat embossing with black wow powder. I coloured them with pan pastels and sealed them with a spray matte varnish.

The pumpkin is a rub on, the cat is a die cut and the spider is a piece of chipboard.

The skull is a piece of chipboard and the bats are die cuts.

I have made them for an atc swap with the theme of Halloween and I'm also entering into this weeks That's Crafty challenge of Friday 13th part 2 as I also entered into part 1 earlier in the year.

Twinchies

Today I made 10 twinches for a swap I've got involved in over on a FB group. The Mona Lisa one is a napkin, the very bottom one is paint stamped onto fabric, the cogs and X are die cuts, the oriental one is stamped LP image and the others are from printed images.

Made some envies to post my twinches out in.

Oriental Card

Carrying on with the squares and dies I made an oriental card.

Close up of the Seth die cuts, the LP stamped image and the butterfly.

PaperArtsy have a theme of squares and grid.

Oriental Adventure

I've carried on with the oriental theme, but I also wanted to incorporate some of my new birthday presents, ie Seth's dies.

Cherry red, blood orange and little black dress fresco paints brayered onto the die cuts and oriental script paper backing.

Birthday Thanks

I had a few things to open this morning, these are my cards.

These are presents from Chris which she gave me at Port Sunny.

And she also gave me these from Linda too.

Fabulous cards from Alison, Neet, Chris Slater, Helen, Emma, Tracey, Chris Cresswell and Lesley. Thank you, they are fabulous and all so different.

And these are what was inside Chris's packages, the piggy money bank has skulls on it, looks pretty cool - thanks Chris, much appreciated.

And this is what was inside the packages from Linda R, love the pens and the yarns and fibres will be great to powertex, thanks Lin

Two Seth stencils and a peg from Lin Shields which she got and gave to me at Port Sunny - thanks Lin, can't wait to use them stencils.

And this set of fab Seth stamps are from Lesley, again, can't wait to get stuck in and have a play - thanks Lesley, very kind and much appreciated.

The die and fab set of stamps and circle die, again designed by Seth, are from Emma. We were looking for them at Port Sunny, but unfortunately Leandra's order hadn't arrived, but we managed to find them elsewhere - thanks Em, can't wait.

This was also from Chris and Linda, Chris got it whilst at Port Sunny as she saw me buying the innies, this is the outies stencil, again designed by Seth - thanks Chris and Linda.

And finally I treated myself with some of the money I knew I'd be getting. Mum and sister obviously don't know what to buy in craft land, so I always end up getting something for myself.

So no need to ask what I'll be doing later after I've been out for lunch. As you can see, I've got lots of new Seth goodies to play with and as they all interlink with each other I really can't wait to have a play.

Thanks to everyone for the lovely cards and presents I've received and all the birthday messages on FB and twitter. They are very much appreciated and I have some lovely friends out there xxx

Oriental Tag

I've got a couple of days off and wanted to play oriental as I've not done so for ages! The background tag is brayered, a die cut was added to the top and some red fibres.

This is one oriental stamp, I stamped it twice and cut four pieces out and mounted them on 3d foam over the relevant squares and added a bit of colour with a red pitt pen.

PaperArtsy have a theme of grids and squares.
