A Fraz Portrait

Remember I took this photo of Fraz a few days ago before we left, well there was a very good reason for it. My great friend (who I have never met IRL but has a beardie called Mylo) is fantastic at drawing and is taking part in the 29 faces of Feb challenge, and this year she has chosen to base it around dogs.

Can you see the very striking resemblance.
Fraz is no 23 which you can see on her blog here.

I'd just like to say a huge, huge thank you to Marianne and I think you've captured his expression perfectly. Thank you soooo much.

Playing Hooky!!

No crafty posts from me for a bit now but thought you might like to see a recent photo of Fraz!! Shall be going AWOL for a while due to a little holiday. But if I get chance I may post a few holiday picks - watch this space!!

Atc Masterboard

Ellens day 3 project over at the PA blog is an Atc masterboard. I only have 1 set of her new stamps so had to improvise a bit but pretty much followed what she did, which you can see here. I stamped some lines in black stazon onto a piece of white card.

I brayered on limelight, zesty zing, tango and claret.

I randomly stamped rows of squares in saddle brown stazon.

I took a scrap piece of paper and brayered on eggplant, yellow submarine, blood orange and beach hut. Using little black dress and pea coat I stamped the images mostly from EV01 stamp plate.

I then randomly cut or tore some of the pieces and stuck them on the background.

I took a black marker pen and added some dots and dashes.

Then I went back in with the white posca pen and added hi-lites.

I then proceeded to cut into 6 atc sized pieces (2.5" x 3.5").

Here they are individually.

And the off cut pieces.

And the finished product after being outlined in black marker pen.

Another Config Box

This is the 2nd pair of config boxes, so I made another chest type box with them again using LP images but not the oriental ones this time.

The canvas is painted in a washed out tango fresco paint.

Images are stamped in black stazon.

This is the back. The image on the right is the only one that didn't stamp that well, but I didn't have any spare canvas to stamp another piece, so had to go with it.

This is the top. The boxes are coloured with blood orange and edged in little black dress.

And a view from the side with the clasp open.

And from the other side.

As you've probably gathered by now if you've read the other box posts, Artful Times have a theme of box clever.

Mini Book Covers

You can tell I'm in holiday mode can't you, I forgot to take a photo of the background before I cut it up and made things with it - lol. But luckily you can pop over to the PA blog and see Ellen's project here.

I pretty much did the same as what she did for the background except I used shades of green and instead of a journal cover I made a couple of little note books and a card topper. I used a Dina Wakley image for the front of this one.

I cut up some paper to add into the book and fixed everything together using binding wires, I used a cinch to create the round holes.

I brayered the inside of the books to give them a neat finish.

And this is the back cover.

For the cover of this one I used the image off the TH Papillon plate.

The inside cover.

And finally the back.

Abstract Pieces

Over at the PA blog Ellen Vargo is back this week with her first project which you can see here.

I pretty much followed what she did for the background using LB Limited Edition paints together with limelight, pumpkin soup and tango as I wanted to keep it quite bright.

I cut each A4 sheet into 4 and added some stamped lines using pumpkin, saddle brown and rusty brown stazon ink.

Close up of the stamped lines.

I'd already ordered the EV01 stamp set from Country View Crafts last week. This plate includes the bolder images. I stamped some in snowflake and some in little black dress.

I put some black dress through a stencil but the circles were a bit big, so I reverted to using the end of a paintbrush.

Then I took my black posca pen and outlined the shapes.

I outlined the black rectangles with a white posca pen for contrast.

For this pair I used a smudgy pencil to outline the shapes, a black for the left and a white for the right. I used a spray sealer over the top, as although I used a smudgy pencil, I didn't actually want it to smudge!!

And here are the finished pieces with black lines of paint added.

Coloured over with the white posca pen.

I haven't made a finished project with them yet as I may use some for Atc's, some for card and others for general backgrounds at a later date.

This was a really great fun project and nothing much can go wrong!!

LP Cube

I painted a block of wood in lumiere metallic olive green as I wanted a dark but bright base if that makes sense!!

I stamped various LP images from the new plates #28 and #30 in black stazon onto a piece of white card.

Coloured the images with various colours of portfolio pastels and blended them.

Added some dots of liquid pearls.

I only have 3 colours, red, green and white.

Artful Times have a theme of box clever, I'm not sure if a cube can be counted, but it's box shape so I'm going for it!!!
