Liverpool to Port Sunny

Just look who I happened to bump into yesterday afternoon at the train station!!

And this is the Wirral train line from Lime Street to Port Sunny.

And this is Hulme Hall where the craft show is going to be held.  We did bump into Leandra, Mark and Emma unpacking the van and setting up stall.

Emma, Helen and Lin leaning on the lamp post!!

Directly opposite is a church and a bowling green.

And this lovely building is at the top of the bowling green.

And another lamp post but this one was very rustic indeed.

Then we went for a wonder around the place and came to this arch, the entrance to the Hillsborough memorial garden.

Someone had recently laid some fresh flowers.

War memorial.

With some fab bronze reliefs all around the outsides.

And one of the seats.

And some of the houses.

The museum.

And a church.

From another angle.

A close up of the outside of the church walls.

The hotel where we are staying.

Front of the hotel come pub.

Then we went back to the hotel and ate or firstly drank in the pub.  It's only orange juice, honestly!!!

And for pudding....but it was gorgeous and was a £2 special, so had to be done!!

Port Sunlight is steeped in history - Port Sunlight is a model villagesuburb and electoral ward in the Metropolitan Borough of WirralMerseysideEnglandHistorically part of Cheshire, it is located between LowerBebington and New Ferry, on the Wirral Peninsula. Between 1894 and 1974 it formed part of Bebington urban district within the county of Cheshire.  Port Sunlight was built by Lever Brothers to accommodate workers in its soap factory (now part of Unilever); work commenced in 1888. The name is derived from Lever Brothers' most popular brand of cleaning agent, Sunlight.  Port Sunlight contains 900 Grade II listed buildings, and was declared a Conservation Area in 1978.
