Oriental Texture

I ran a piece of sturdy chipboard through the TH flourishes die.

Painted a 4 x 4 piece of thicker chipboard in fresco paints.

Placed the flourish on the background.

Completely covered the flourish with grunge paste.

Then carefully lifted out the flourish pieces.

The bonus to this is that you get flourishes covered in grunge paste to use on a different project.

Painted the whole area with a mix of haystack, blood orange, submarine and tango fresco paints.

Outlined the indented flourish with black pan pastel and smudged it in.

Stamped the LP image in archival ink directly onto the background and edge with white fire liquid leaf.

Close up of the texture, indented flourish and gold leaf edging.

Lots of ruby and renaissance treasure gold added to bring out the grunge paste texture, gems added to the cheeks and the word serenity to finish.

Close up of the textured treasure gold.

Such a clever idea Sam! How do you get the flourishes to stay in place when you put paste over them? Jenny x
