Under Lock & Key

Over at Out of a Hat Creations this week they have a fabulous theme of locks and keys.  ABAC also have the theme of mainly black.

I used the Sizzix box candy drawer die to make the box and covered it in clock face / time paper which I picked up cheap last time I was at AftH.

I encased the box in silver chain and added the lock and key.

There is nothing inside as you are not meant to be able to get it open!!!

*** Out of the Hat are having another mousetrap challenge in the next couple of weeks.  If you would like to take part, but don't have a mousetrap, please feel free to email me (click button on sidebar) with your information and I will gladly post one out to you so you can join in ***

Hi Sam. The chain and the paper go perfectly. Y'know we all make boxes that are for opening and yet they look fabulous just as they are. Great idea and a wonderful project. Super photo and staging. Thank you for sharing with the Hatters again this week. Thank you also for your kind offer about the mousetraps. Have a lovely weekend.
Regards Florence xx

Great box Sam (I really want this die!) and the papers are perfect for our challenge this time. What I really love are the chains and little keys and locks - they add a great edge to this piece.
Thanks for joining us again at Anything But A Card.

My photo
Hi I'm Sam, 45, birthday in October - Any piece of art gratefully rec'd - Thanks. OH, Martin, been together 25 years and still no plans to get married!!! We love spending time with our pupster, especially when the weather is dry and we get to take him to the woods. I love any sort of crafting and would say that I am adventurous with new materials. We love going skiing in any winter resort, but mainly the States or Canada, they have better snow!! We lost our first beardie, Max, August 2006 at a ripe old age of 14 and 1/4. Since then Frazzie has come along, he is now 9 years and 0 months old and is still a little Bugger, Bugger!!! Unfortunately in December 2008 we lost Alfie at 14 months old after only having a short time of 7 weeks loving and caring for him. He found a good buddie in Fraz and loved him to bits.
