Acetate Hangers

These have all been created using the spray ink and paint backgrounds that I'd previously made.  The acetate images have been painted with Silkies. The letters are die cut in black card from the red tag sale set by cuttlebug.

This hanger is done in the same way as above apart from the letters, instead I added a clay piece which I'd already prepared.  The main image is from PBS.

The Silkies have worked really well on this image, they are so bright and vibrant.



Acetate Makes

I decided to heat emboss a few images onto acetate using versamark ink and black embossing powder.  I took a used babywipe and needle felted green and pink felted wool into it.  I sewed the images onto the babywipe and sewed the babywipe onto a piece of calico which I'd previously dyed. I used the heat gun to shrink the babywipe (it wouldn't burn) and I burnt the bottom of the calico but it started to set on fire so I didn't do any more. I stamped green swirls with momento bamboo and raspberry adirondack ink.  I printed 'just good friends' onto a piece of acetate, outlined it in black pen and used a candle flame to melt it.  I sewed it onto the bottom of the calico.  I turned the fabric over at the top and sewed a line across to create a pouch to thread the wood through to create the hanger.  I put a bead at each end of the piece of wood and added a piece of co-ordinating wool to hang the piece.

This is a close up of the acetate image.  It has been coloured with Pearlescent Watercolour Paints from Once Upon a Stamp.

And this is a close up of the just good friends on the acetate. It has been computer generated and outlined with a fine black pen.

More Belated Birthday Wishes

Collage Atc Set

This months atc theme on UKStampers is stamped collage.  The main images were stamped, masked off and various other images were stamped around them.  The backgrounds were then chalked leaving the faces of the main images lighter. Gold coloured square gems were added to the green one, a piece of ribbon and blue gems in the flower centres were added to the blue one and the hat of the yellow one has been covered with glossy accents.

Cog and Clock Background

I sprayed the card with lime ink, placed the masks over the lime and sprayed again with post box red.  I stamped the images and words with black stazon.

I made a couple of large tags.  I added a clay piece that I stamped into with the word travel.  I coloured it with silver pen and wrapped silver thread around it.  I added a spinner and a brad to the clock, a prestud and a time piece from a watch. I used a paper distresser and edged with black soot distress ink.  I have entered this tag into a yahoo group challenge.  The criteria was, stamping, a word and metal.

                              

This one has a T!m Alterations corrugated cog painted with black acrylic dabber. A brad and a spinner and a prestud. Again the edges were distressed and fibres were added to finish.

I made another easel card. It's for one of the members of a yahoo group I am involved with who is a bit under the weather at the moment.

And finally I managed to squeeze an Atc from the remaining piece.  I added the word imagine and a prestud.

Fraz and the Fireworks

For some reason people have just decided it's a good idea to let off a load of loud banging fireworks.  Fraz really doesn't like them.  He came bounding downstairs, jumped on the settee and buried his head under the cushions!!!!  So I thought I'd grab a quick photo, but bless him, he really was frightened!!!!

Black and white

I used eco friendly paints to create this piece.  I painted the background black and when dry, applied a generous amount of green glue, on top of that I applied the white.   I gently dried with the heat gun (hair dryer type), to create the crackle effect.  Once totally dry, I stamped the CI image 283 with black stazon.  I quite like the result. 

Spray and Paint Backgrounds

This one was created with lime and vanilla custard Dylusions spray ink and Dylusions orange paint and black eco-friendly paint.

This one was created with numerous Dylusion spray inks, lime, vanilla custard, cyan, aubergine, fuschia, granite, burnt orange mica spray and orchid eco-friendly paint.  I used this background for the easel card in the previous post.

This one is burnt orange mica spray, warm leather, post box red, fuschia spray inks and orchid and black eco-friendly paints.

This one was made with lime and vanilla custard spray inks and patina green and butternut eco-friendly paints.  I used this background to create my first easel card as shown in a previous post.

This background was made with post box red, cyan, granite, aubergine, fuschia spray inks and blueberry and patina green eco-friendly paints.

Another Easel Card

It's my nieces 16th birthday at the beginning of November, so I decided to have another go at an easel card.  I made this one 6" x 6".  I created some more backgrounds using Dy's spray inks and eco friendly paints, cut this A4 sheet up and used it for the bottom and front of the card. The CI image is stamped over eco-friendly paint which has been crackled.  I cut out the flourish, the numbers and the fancy diamond from black card using the bigshot.  I cut another piece of the background and placed it inside the diamond shape.  The writing was printed onto safmat.  I used 5 gems to hold the front of the card in place.

Easel Card

It's my sisters birthday tomorrow so I decided to have a go at making an easel card for something a bit different. As you can see, I kept it very simple. I covered the bottom and front panels with the lime and vanilla custard and patina green and butternut background that I'd previous created.  I then stamped the PBS image onto white card and mounted it on to black.  The happy birthday is attached with foam pads to raise it so that the front of the card can be tucked behind it to make it stand up.

ATC's - SCD Challenge

Last night I had a play with my new inks, paints and stamps from the show. The lady portrait on the right is one of the birthday stamps Neet sent me.


I am entering the two green ones into this weeks Something Completely Different challenge as the theme is green and yellow. I used Dy's lime and vanilla custard spray inks and topped them up with green patina and butternut eco-friendly paints.  Stamped my new CI images, added gems, ribbon and a button.

The Dome Goodies

Well I only needed some silicone glue!!!  Dy at AFTH was demo-ing her new range of spray inks, so I ended up with a set of those and a mica one and an acrylic paint tub to try!!  They did look awesome. Jo was demo-ing the eco-friendly paints and doing some fab things with them.  There was a show offer on, 5 for £10, so I gave into that one too. The spellbinders were 4 for £60 so we split that and got 2 each. I got a scrolls template but I really wanted the maple leaf one, they didn't have it. Just love the Lavinia stamps so had to get some of those and also loved the new CI stamps. I'm slowly collecting the brights and lights in the AI's, picked up another 2 today. We also got a pack of 'cute' christmas teddie cards to share, to use as toppers.  And oh yeah, I didn't actually buy the pink eyelets, they were a free gift, and No, I didn't choose pink on purpose, they were wrapped up, so it was a lucky dip!!!!!!  I did kick myself though, I picked up some strips of FP, put them down and said I'd go back for them later, but I forgot until we were half way home!!!!

More birthday goodies

Another couple of samples

These are a couple more samples I've produced on my course.  The top one is couching using a zigzag stitch.

This is a piece of calico with hundreds of tiny shreds of fabric, threads, ribbons, fibres and wool bonded onto it.  A piece of black netting was placed over the top and using a blue and a purple thread I used some of the patterned embroidery stitches available on the machine.

Friendly Plastic

Yesterday I went to Maz's and we had a play with friendly plastic.  Neither of us have ever used it before so it really was trial and error.  The first piece has a stamped impressed into it.  Sequin waste was pushed through the orange and gold circle.  All the off cuts were melted and stuck back together, the flower was again stamped and I cut it out.  The black and gold heart is gold FP with black lace pushed through it and the rainbow FP has Angeline Fibres melted into it.

We then got a bit adventerous and made a necklace with hearts and beads.

This is the reverse side.  I had to wear it in the pub yesterday lunchtime!!!!  Blue and blingy!!!!!!
