Escape the Ordinary

Darcy is back on the PA Blog with more journal techniques which you can see here. As I used a tag I only used 4 colours of paint.

Applied a layer of stamped tissue paper with matte medium.

Randomly stamped the stampotique flower sprig in hydrangea blue stazon. Randomly applied tikka, blood orange and chartreuse through a couple of stencils after toning down the background with a layer of very watered down stone. Then the best bit, which is so simple, but so effective, creating the border, great inspiration.

I added an arch which Lin kindly die cut and sent to me. I tried to crack it using the crackle glaze but it just didn't do anything so added some guacamole to the pea coat layer.

Close up of the stamped image and arch.

Close up of the torn paper edges.

ABAC have a theme of Summer Lovin, and I thought with the bright summer colours and the flower stems and pods I'd enter with this tag.

Oo nice edges. I like torn paper as a mask, it's very effective. Shame your crackle didn't work, but the guacamole over the pea coat works really well as a distress alternative.

Fab colours Sam, must pop over and look at the challenge as haven't done so yet, ooops!

Same the crackle didn't work, the arch frame is a wonderful shape and love how it pops off the page.

Great Tag :-) xxx
