My holiday photos arrived this week and over on the PA blog Pam the queen of scrap booking is back and for her third project she'd created a fab layout incorporating strips of paper and a sewing machine which you can see here. So I chose an appropriate photo and came up with this.

WRMK Envelope Punch Board

As many of you know, I picked up a We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board from Hobby Lobby whilst on holiday, and although I've made some envelopes with it, I decided to see what else I could do with it.

So far, I've managed a couple of different sized boxes, a cracker, a matchbox and a treat pouch.

I'm sure I can manipulate the measurements to create lots more different sizes and there are still an array of other projects to try using the board.

Some of the items also required the use of a score board and scissors to cut some of the flaps off and of course, some type of glue to assemble.

I do have to say though, that due to the precision of the tool, the corners etc fit together perfectly and if you have any reservations or have been pondering, my advise would be to go for it.

Gelatos & Portfolio Pastels

Gelatos have been used on the left and Portfolio Pastels on the right on the first four photos.

However, I did use different types of paper for each one.

For some reason I only picked up 2 greens in the Gelatos whilst I was on holiday, hence the different colour combos.

Each acts differently on the different papers, but I think both products blend really well.

I used black versafine ink to stamp the images.

Added some pen work to the main image and the row of flowers along with some gems.

Again I stamped in black versafine ink. The Dina Wakley images on the water colour card didn't stamp that well. I used my black smudgy pencil to the circles on the butterfly background which was the Portfolio Pastels.

I tried to use the same smudgy black pencil on the right of these two which used the Gelatos and it wouldn't write!!!

In my opinion, and it is only my opinion, I have no preference over the two products, one is better for one thing than the other and visa versa, but the type paper/card has a lot to do with how they perform too!!  And some colours tend to blend better than others.

All I've played with so far is backgrounds, still got loads more stuff to try out from the techniques book that came with one of the sets!!

Portfolio Pastels & Ink

I blended a few colours of portfolio pastels onto a piece of white card and stamped a TH Classics image in seedless preserve distress ink.

I swiped over the Ellen Vargo diamonds in black stazon and stamped the main LP image in black versafine. I had to dry it with the heat gun over the Portfolio pastels as it sat on the top. Once dry, I used a white posca pen to high-light parts of the stamped images.

And finally I added white gems to the cheeks and purple pearls to the middle of the diamonds.

I am entering into the That's Crafty challenge this week as they would like to see some ink.

Ellen Vargo Project

Over on the PA blog Ellen Vargo has been building up to an art journal page over the last 3 nights with her fab videos, which you can see here.

I pretty much followed what she did, using a sheet of card and a large tag, fresco paints and the stamp from EEV03.

Stamped the same image in black stazon over the scrap piece I'd used with the brayer. 

Cut them out and decided where I wanted to place them. Added a couple of strips of number text paper.

Added strips of a map to this page.

Stuck them down and added the black lines to the map strips

And the text paper. 

The next stage of the project was to WRITE some words, so I had a practise!!

So I bottled it a bit as I sketched out a square to write the words of the Picasso quote. I used the triangle way of lettering but think my pen was too thick. The white outline came out pretty good on this one though.

So I got brave and sketched out a circle, but could of done with starting the lettering a bit higher up. I used a different pen and it wasn't as black, so it doesn't look as bold as the lettering on the tag, but all was good!!

Cracking Open the Gelli Plate

Having had my gelli plate since just after Christmas, I decided to crack it open and have a play tonight.

Even though I really don't have the room, not just to put the prints somewhere to dry out,

but the main problem is having somewhere to put the painty things that I've pressed into the paint.

Ie stencils, bubble wrap, fun foam, wedges, cleaning off the brayer!!

Not to mention putting the paint out of reach - lol - live and learn!!

And stopping the lids off household items rolling all over with paint on them!!

I also decided to use some rubber stamps and of course they needed cleaning straight away!!

For these two I just used different sizes of lids to create the random circles.

Had great fun, and shall defo be doing some more prints!!

About Time

Can't you just tell I'm back home now surrounded by all my craft stuff!!  Another take on the PA project by Teresa Abajo. This time I used the clock stencil in the background, the new LB colour pallet which blended perfectly and more watch parts and less cogs on this tag.

Two Hearts Tag

Alison has been back on the PA blog again this week with her hearty canvas project which you can see here.  I decided my base would be corrugated card in the shape of a tag. I crackled the hearts using tinned peas and guacamole and stamped the LP images in timber brown stazon.

Row of Houses

Another PA inspired make, this time by Helen Chilton which you can see here. I stamped the row houses from the newly released LP #28 stamp plate, coloured them with gelatos and blended the colours, cut them out and mounted them on black card.
