OoOooh Excited for GD spot for Stampotique

I've been sworn to secrecy for months now, but I can finally let the cat out the bag. I was asked by the Stapotique team if I wanted to be considered for a GD position and if so which month.  I chose October for two reasons, firstly I was at college for my teaching qualification until June, which I duly completed and now have a certificate for, and secondly October is my birthday month.

I was asked to make 4 projects, 2 for the challenge blog and 2 for either the designers blog or the Stampotique blog. Sam Read has chosen the theme for the first week of the challenge blog and she chose ATC's.

I took an atc sized (3.5" x 2.5") piece of white card and the salty ocean distress ink pad and simply placed the pad directly onto the card and applied some pressure.  I stamped the spidergrass in versamark ink and embossed it with vanilla white wow powder.  I then over stamped it with black versafine. I stamped the beauty verse onto white card, cut the words out and outlined each of them in black pen.  Finally I edged the atc in black pen.

As I'd also chosen these two stamps to work with, single tear and love travels I decided to make another Atc.  The background is shades of fresco greens, with vanilla diamonds stencilled over them, but then I gave the atc a few layers of bees wax.  I stamped the single tear directly onto the wax. The verse was stamped onto white card, cut into single words and each word was edged in black pen and stuck onto the atc with glossy accents which stuck to the wax quite well.  I then placed the Atc into a 2.5" x 3.5" photo frame.  So two reasons why it's not photographed that well, the wax and the glass, both giving off glare!!  But you get the general idea.

Congratulations on the GD appointment at Stampotique, Sam--you are very deserving of this honor! Like Samantha, I am a big ATC fan, and love both of yours. Creative to have "cut up" the text stamps for use on the smaller size. Good luck on your DT application, too!!

Love both the ATCs Sam. The overstamping of the spidergrass is very effective but I love the mystical look of the second one.

Many congrats on your well deserved GD spot!

Don't know where to start - huge congrats on your DT spot... must've been very hard keeping that under your hat. And huge congrats on getting your teaching certificate too!

Love these two ATCs - especially (of course!) the meadow flowers. The double stamping looks amazing, and so cool just to use the ink pad shape to create the framing background - brilliant!
