Escape the Ordinary - Stampotique

This is my anything goes piece for week 2 of my GD spot on the Stampotique team.  The background is a canvas to which I applied grunge paste through the diamond stencil.  I coloured it with various colours of fresco paint in green shades, tinned peas, hey pesto, green olives, Hyde park and guacamole.  Once I'd achieved the colour I wanted I sanded back over the grunge paste.  I then stamped various Stampotique images randomly over the background, splatter, diva, swirls, Carols small flower and tiny bee.  I added some random circles in black paint using a bottle lid and some bubble wrap.

I used the negative of the TH postage stamp die to section part of the canvas off.  I gave the background to this a whitewash of watered down snowflake fresco paint.  I stamped the mushroom group and two of the giant shroom images onto white card.  I coloured them with fresco paints, blood orange, French roast and mushroom. I hi-lighted with the white posca pen.

The fence is the on the edge on the fence die and was cut from ribbed kraft paper and swooshed over with vintage photo distress ink.

Finally I added the Stampotique words, escape the ordinary...daydream, but I only used the first part of the quote.

What a wonderful canvas you have created, Sam! I love the step-by-step directions you have shared--it certainly helps those of us who are still finding our way! Great use of that negative image for the frame, too! Thanks for the inspiration!
