Topaz Postcard

I decided to make a postcard using topaz colours which I've interpreted as orangey browns, as the Out of a Hat Creations challenge of birthstones is running for 2 weeks over the Christmas period.

The background is a piece of core card run through a texture fade embossing folder and then sanded to reveal more of the underneath colour.  The fabric piece was created a while ago and if you want to how check back here.  The flower from the tattered flowers decorative strip was also cut from the core card and assembled using a brad.  A piece of ric rac ribbon was added to finish.

This is a very beautiful piece Sam and I love the way you have done the background card with the sanding down.

Always lovely to have you join in with us at Out of Hat and thank you for your support in 2012.

Love Chrissie xx

Hi I'm Sam, 42, birthday in October - Any piece of art gratefully rec'd - Thanks. OH, Martin, been together 23 years and still no plans to get married!!! We love spending time with our pupster, especially when the weather is dry and we get to take him to the woods. I love any sort of crafting and would say that I am adventurous with new materials. We love going skiing in any winter resort, but mainly the States or Canada, they have better snow!! We lost our first beardie, Max, August 2006 at a ripe old age of 14 and 1/4. Since then Frazzie has come along, he is now 5 years and 10 months old and is still a little Bugger, Bugger!!! Unfortunately in December 2008 we lost Alfie at 14 months old after only having a short time of 7 weeks loving and caring for him. He found a good buddie in Fraz and loved him to bits.
