JFF - Week 1 - Heartfelt Wings

Just for Fun is a brand new challenge site which I am proud to be a part of.  I have had the priviledge of choosing the first months theme.  I chose 'wings' with a different weekly theme running through it.  So this week is 'heartfelt' wings with the idea of adding a heart to your wings.

The background is one of my favourite materials, one because it's very cheap and two because it's great to work with.  After tearing the outside layer off I painted with patina green eco-friendly acrylics and contrasted some areas with black.  I cut the heart out of chipboard and run the wings through the big shot using one of T!m's alteration dies.  I then used this technique to create the texture.  Once dry I painted with bronze eco-friendly acrylic and went over the raised areas and edges with black.  I wrapped silver wire around the heart and added a few beads and sequins.  Finally I added a washer and a brad to the metal word 'passion'.

I hope you'll nip over to our new challenge blog to check it out, if you haven't been there already.
