Another couple of Layered Tags

I started brayering the backgrounds with various colours of fresco paints including tango, autumn fire, zesty zing, very berry, pumpkin soup and probably some more.

I used Kate Crane's hand carved stamp set with Baltic blue and turquoise fresco paints to stamp the images in the backgrounds.

I put some images together to create some more images and added doodling with graphik liner pens and a white sharpie.

The tags are approx size #10.

Layers and Layers

I wanted to colour some powertex makes but they weren't dry so I decided to have another play with Seth's layering techniques as demonstrated by Ali at Port Sunny.

Once finished I added some of Seth's die cuts by Spellbinders. I can't exactly remember which frescos I used apart from the fact I started off with black, added some marlin, guacamole, haystack and probably a few more until I was happy with what I had. The stenciling was done with nougat and Baltic blue.

For this tag I started off with a white background using snowflake and again kept adding layers of colour until I liked what I saw. I know I have haystack, guacamole, seaweed and turquoise on there somewhere.

I used the same mini stencil with Baltic blue, a Seth stencil from Stencil Girls and some more Seth die cuts.

And this canvas was a bonus, because instead of using a piece of paper to clean the brayer between colours, I simply brayered onto this canvas instead. Again another Seth stencil, but this is the first time I've used it. I think I probably needed to do some stamping in the background before I used it, but there's always next time!

Tags, side by side.

PaperArtsy have a challenge theme this week of die cuts, so I'd like to enter my tags and canvas.

***Edited***

I'm much happier now that I've added some stamping to the background.

Three Atc's

Created some backgrounds using modelling paste, matte medium and textured sand paste.

Then I made three grungy Halloween type atc's for a swap I am holding over on a FB group by adding different colours of media paint until I was happy with what I had.

I added some quin gold to the pieces of wire and the staples.

The red is from the media mister.

And the words have been wiped over with quin gold.

I'm also linking up to Country View Crafts as they have a theme of all things spooky.

Halloween Stands

When we were at Port Sunny, Helen and I were looking at some mdf stands, but we thought they were expensive at 5 for £10, so I decided to see if I could make something like, and here they are.

I decorated both sides and reinforced the bottoms. I used DecoArt satin paints and brayered them on to make the backgrouds.

This is the view of the larger one from the side, you can see the fence on the right and I used to words on the other side to hold it up, the reason for this is because I used a card die cut for the tree and it was a bit heavier on that side, but it works perfectly.

And this is the smaller one which needed nothing, it happily stands up on its own.

I'm also linking up to Country View Crafts who have a theme of all things spooky.

Layered background

After getting Alison to painstaking talk me through each step of something she was demo-ing on the PaperArtsy stand on Saturday (only because there was no-one else around and she needed some company), I thought I'd best actually have a go and also it gave me an excuse to use my new stamps. I used Decoart satin paints.

Once the background was completed I needed a focal point and as I was looking for something else I came across these dragonfly dies that Emma kindly cut for me, so using the dazzling metallics I coloured one in and place it on the background.

Thanks Ali xx

PaperArtsy have a theme of dies cuts this time around, so I'd like to enter my piece.

Port Sunlight Happy Stampers - Part 2

After queuing for a few minutes in the drizzle, we finally got into the hall and the first person I walked into was Neet, who I haven't seen for ages, and who hadn't up to this point, actually met Helen.

Then Chris came and found us at the PaperArtsy stand, well where else really!!

It was quite busy, which was good for the retailers, but you just couldn't get in to see anything. We went off for a drink to a bar across the road.

When we came back, it had thinned out a bit.

Ali was demo-ing in the afternoon on the PaperArsty stand. She was using one of the really small gelli plates.

Lots of people stopped by to see what was going on.

This was the other side of the hall, again in the afternoon after it had calmed down a bit.

Chris deciding if she needs it or not - no contest there then - lol

In the red and white stripey shirt is my mate Chris, not seen her for ages, was good to catch up.

Then we saw Claire who had come down with her mum.

Then we went back to the garden centre for a drink and a slice of cake (photo courtesy of Helen). Chris joined up too.

Back to the show and Lin and Emma back on the PaperArtsy stand.

Also stolen from Helen's blog!

And this is what I bought, not a lot I know, but I wanted some of the Seth dies and some other stamps, but unfortunately Leandra's order hadn't arrived, so she didn't have them.

And I hope Helen doesn't mind as I've pinched the photo she tweeted of us with Alison in the pub last night, as she was waiting on her own to be picked up by hubby, so I went and found her in the pub and invited her back to our table, and then her and hubby ended up eating with us too, which was great.

Then this morning after breakfast we made our way back to Liverpool Station and got our trains home. Lin and Helen went off to do a bit of sight seeing as they had a much later train than me and Emma.

Helen took some fabulous photos not only of the show but of Liverpool too which you can see here, here and here.

Port Sunlight Happy Stampers Weekend - Part 1

So when we arrived at Port Sunlight it was a gorgeous afternoon, so we decided to go for a wander after we'd called in at the garden centre for a well earned drink and slice of cake. So this is the art gallery which had a Picasso exhibition on, but it was just closing as we walked past.

Some of the beautiful houses in the village.

Emma and Lin in the village.

And one of the many greens in the village. It's so peaceful, clean and tidy.

And the place is littered with old red telephone boxes.

We all loved this house, I think it kind of looks like a fairy house.

And we decided that this was probably the local school in the day. It isn't any more as there is a working school opposite.

We walked through the paths on another of the greens and came up and over the bridge and Lin and Emma spied this gorgeous young black cat with cute white paws.

And it followed us right to the highest point on the wall on the top of the bridge.

Another line of the beautiful, yet completely different houses.

A close up of the detail over the tops of the windows.

Then we were back round to the beginning again. You can see all the vans lined up next to the hall setting up their stands inside for the show tomorrow. We did call in on the way out to say hi to Leandra and Mark.

Lin, Emma and Helen on the wall opposite the row of houses a couple of shots above.

Then Emma took the same shot with me in it just to prove I was there!

This is the hall where the show is held.

And the gang leaning on the post of the named hall.

Then we went back to the hotel restaurant, had a drink and some food, and then another drink!!

Part 2 to follow.......
