The Two of Us

Golden regular gel mixed with a bit of matte medium and micro beads added and put through a stencil onto a journal page.

Once dry I spritzed the page with water, added some black media mister, dried it, mixed up some silver primary elements and used a pipette to apply it over the texture. Again sprayed to let it drip.

I used the white shimmer media mister from the top of the page and let it drip down, again using water to help it move around.

I coloured the rest of the page with pan pastels.

Next I lightly stamped in black soot distress ink using a stamp from the Andy Skinner industrial set.

Stamped my new to me girls, masked them off, added the Ryn water droplets plus a few along the top with stickers from the chit chat idea-ology set to finish.

And I thought I'd finished but I just couldn't resist adding a bit of white pen.

Shades of Green

Another journal page. I've not done anything green for a while.

Journal Page Mop Up

When Em came over one of the purple paints exploded when the lid was popped, so journal to the rescue to pick up all the excess paint. A few circles and arrow heads stencilled with white gesso. Circles created with various sizes of lids in dazzling metallic black and teal paints and white chalky paint. Circles coloured by blending gelatos and portfolio pastels.

Circles is the theme over at PaperArtsy this week.

More tags from our play day. Emma spotted some Teesha Moore stamps for sale, so grabbed me a couple and brought them with her, they are fab little characters, but very rare.

Entering into the PA Challenge which is circles.

Teesha Moore Style Atc's

Using some Teesha Moore images I created these atc's. This time I coloured the backgrounds first!!

Gelatos on the background, image added and doodling to finish.

More gelatos, a bit of stamping for the tiny black dots from a PA hot picks plate and outlined in posca pens.

Gelatos again with PA mini splats stamped image doodling in white sharpie pen.

More circles for the PA challenge.

Play Days

Emma came over for a couple of days to play, but first she had to have some Fraz time.

She played with the mini gelli plate as there simply wasn't enough room to get the 8 x 10 out and both of us be in the room at the same time - lol.

DecoArt multi purpose satin paints.

And can you believe, I couldn't, that she's never played with shaving foam, so off I went upstairs to find some!!

Fraz was totally worn out last night by the time we'd got back from our meal at the pub.

This morning he realised she was still here, so went and made friends again.

Today we played with tags, atcs, a mini canvas and crackled some wooden hearts.

The sides of the heart being dried after painting.

Fraz obviously wasn't letting Emma go anywhere!

This is my canvas that I did using the eye by Limor Webber, PA script and splats minis and the circles from a Finn plate with Dylusion paints and stazon ink.

View of the deep stamped edges.

And from the other side.

And then Emma painted her canvas and had me on a mission to find a stamp that said something like Home is where the Heart is. Well I knew I didn't have anything like that but I looked to see if there was anything else suitable, but there wasn't so she's taken it home to finish it.

We used some different crackle products and this is my atc using weathered wood crackle glaze.

These are the effects of the shaving foam on glossy card using alcohol inks - pretty cool hey.

She also played with DecoArt dazzling metallic paints on the gelli plate and brushos, but I didn't get any photos of those.

Teesha Moore Style Tags

I did something today that I've never done before, I created the main image and stuck it down, before I did the backgrounds - yikes, what to do next!!

So this is what I did and this is how they ended up!

I scribbled portfolio pastels directly onto the tag and used a thin paintbrush with a smidge of water to move the product around. I created some doodling using sharpie and posca pens. The images are from Teesha Moore.

This one I did on a #10 tag as the head image is quite large. I coloured the background with a mix of mustard seed and spiced marmalade distress inks and stamped some of the background circles in the same colours. EV images stamped in black stazon and used a white sharpie pen to doodle.

I wanted the background for this one quite pale, so I scribbled a blue and purple portfolio pastel onto my craft mat, spritzed some water and picked the colours up with a paintbrush. I stamped some EV images onto the tag and again outlined elements with a white sharpie pen.

You might of spotted the common theme, circles, yes I made these to fit in with this weeks PaperArtsy theme.

Atc Swap - Texture

Patterned papers and newspaper text were added to the base of the mdf atc and given a coat of matte medium from DecoArt. The images were taken from an oriental atc book and the symbols down the middle is washi tape. Everything was given a coat of DecoArt media clear crackle.

The edges were outlined in radiant red metallic lustre.

Close up of the crackle after white antiquing cream had been applied and buffed up.

Unfortunately I forgot to take any step by step photos of the making of this one. I added a couple of pieces of thick corrugated, some patterned papers and some black modelling paste. I painted the whole atc with various colours of dazzling metallics and black chalky paint. I used orange flicker metallic lustre over the modelling paste, the wooden cog and the metal clock face.

Over at PA this week they have a theme of circles, so I am entering the bottom atc due to all the round elements on there!!

All products are from the DecoArt range.

Zombie Brains

I started with a mop up page in my journal, it's sort of dark blue and black and I stamped a border of skulls around each edge in black stazon.

I used bubble wrap and added some more circles using a bottle lid and black paint. I faintly stamped some spiders and some webs. I also stamped the quote but it didn't show up, so went over it with pen. The images are stamps from VLV but I photociped them and blew them up to make them bigger. They are coloured with distress ink markers and PA mini script stamped over the tombstones.

I am entering into the PA challenge which this week has a theme of circles.

Atc's

Today I had an urge to re-visit my neglected distress inks.

I just took a few colours of distress inks, covered the atcs and flicked some water on them.

This one has a piece of embossed acetate over the top of the stamped Teesha Moore image which has been outlined with a smudgy pencil.

Again more acetate, this time attached with brads and the edges of the acetate coloured with moss pearl DecoArts dazzling metallics.

I stamped this image directly onto the atc and was going to re-stamp it and cut it out without all the fiddly hat pieces, but I quite liked how it looked so I went with it and outlined some of the image with a white posca pen.

And finally very simply just an image stamped directly onto the atc, words stamped and cut from white card.

Textured Canvas

Carrying on with the PA theme of mediums and gels I randomly placed some on the above canvas board.

I didn't have any with the beads in so I made my own.

Once completely dry, which takes absolutely ages! I sprayed with black and turquoise shimmer media misters.

And then I found a bottle of Lindys Stamp Gang Starburst stain in Opal Sea Oats. I don't have it in a spray but in a bottle with a dabber top, anyway it worked great. The above photo was taken outside.

I stamped the Brette Weldele images from the presenters plate and coloured with distress ink markers. I added lots of embellishments but didn't want to cover any of the textured areas over.
