Weekend at Lins - Day 2 - Part 2

So after lunch, out came the screen printing kits. These are sooooo much fun. This is Lin helping Lin get one of the prints into her journal.

And this is the result, and you can also spy a feather and half a dragonfly in the bottom corner.

Karen decided to sit this one out as she's done it all before, but for the rest of us, it was a first.

We kept to the same colours for each screen (image) so Lin didn't have to keep washing and drying everything, it was bad enough after we'd all done a round and finished with a screen and a squeegee.

Now I can't remember the exact colours we used but we did the alphabet in an orange and the pen nibs in black and I chose to print them over patterned paper. They have a great texture as they are slightly raised.

This one is a seedhead and the colour was emerald green. This one bled slightly.

Loved the butterfly, it looked especially good in the black.

The PINK feather bled a bit too, but the orange dragonfly came out fabulous, so much detail.

More seedheads, this time in gold and the butterfly again in black.

The the lovely Karen let us lose on her Spectrum Noir (?) blendable pencils, which I didn't really get because to blend them you had to use a paper stump and some special fluid. Anyway, I had a go and quickly gave up.

So Lin and I swapped seats so she could make a mini tag for Lin as she'd asked us all to make one sometime over the weekend so she could put it in her mini folder.

We also managed to sneak out into the garden for another little play!!

We then moved onto a tag which had been covered in fabric. Using the LB first set of limited edition paints and snowflake, stencils and some PA minis, I stenciled and stamped onto the tag after a couple of colour washes over the fabric - loved this one.

And the final play before the day came to an end, was to crackle a piece of material. A generous helping of mud splat was painted on to cover all of the material. A layer of crackle was spread over the dried mud splat and then sage was sponged over the top.

And then the cracks happened. IRL the mud splat actually looks metallic under the sage.

And finally our end of day group photo (including Meg) before we all descended off in different directions to start our journey home.

It was fantastic to meet up with everyone again, and a huge thank you to each of you for a truly wonderful weekend.
