Alteration Dies by T!m Holtz - Sizzix
After having a play with my mates dies, I decided I just had to have some, they came yesterday, so last night I was having a play, along with my new Paper Artsy stamps. The fab things about these dies is that you don't have to mess around with the sandwich. I put through thick cork, thick card covered in paper, thin fabric and leather and all I used each time were the 2 cutting plates. Once I'd cut the cork ones I stamped them with some of the new PA Hot Picks stamps.
This stamped background is the new PA clocks 3 set on alcohol inks. The largest cog was cut out of leather but was suede on the other side, a stamped cork cog was set on top and another stamped cork one to the right. Thanks Hilda for the pieces of cork.

Flower Tag
I'm not sure if this works or not. I cut the flower dies and used them but used the backing to created the background pattern. It actually looks full on in this photo but it's not as bad IRL!!!! I took the photo out in the sun in the garden, so it was bright - perhaps too bright!!!!

Postcard Swap - Spring Time
Zoe over on Lotstodo is hosting a postcard swap with a 'spring time' theme. I decided to use up the remaining bits from what were cut from the Alteration dies at the weekend. The bottom one is stamped using Adirondack inks spritzed with water to give a water colour effect.
*** Edited ***
Should have read the post properly!! The theme is summer not spring time!!!! And as Hilda has just pointed out, the swap was for 4 and not 3. Just not my day is it!!!!

Play Day WIth Tim's Alterations
Went to my mates yesterday for a play with her new Alterations dies. This is what I did with the tattered florals and elegant flourishes.
And the caged bird.
And the fab gadget gears - love the background on this tag.
This 4 x 4 has the wings and the crown from the 'heart wings' set.
And the 'fanciful flight' on the corrugated with an image from Lisa's Altered Art.

Alcohol Inks - Lotstodo Challenge
As I was having a massive tidy up of all my stuff and trying to find homes for my holiday stash I came across a piece of glass. This got me pondering on what I could do with it. I decided to colour it with the lighter shades of alcohol inks, juniper, willow, salmon, lemonade. I then stamped the quote, the flowers and the scratches with black stazon. Added gems to the centre of the flowers and a piece of lace to the top so that I could hide the ribbon to hang it with. I had to attach a piece of white card behind the glass as you couldn't see the background colours.

Tags & 4 x 4's
Been playing with my silkies again, but this time I used them as a background. I splodged a bit of each of the 4 colours onto a craft sheet, took my brayer, loaded it up and rolled. The colours came out too bright and the stripes were too clean, so I spritzed it with water and got a much more muted effect. I'm not sure if you can see or not but because they have mica in them, they sparkle!!!! The background image (stampers anonymous - diamond collage) is clear embossed on all the pieces.
I am entering the one on the right into this weeks My Time To Craft challenge as the theme is pretty pearls. I don't know if black ones are be classed as 'pretty', I can but try!!!
*** Edited ***
It was sunny this morning, and I've done some close ups, so I'm hoping you can now see the mica which gives it the sparkle
You may need to enlarge the photos to see properly

Acetate and Silkies
I printed these images onto acetate and painted the backs of them with my new silkies. Then made them into 4 x 4's. I've only got 4 colours so I was a bit limited, but I'm pleased with how they turned out.
Let's get Dotty!!!!
I'm hosting a swap over on Lotstodo with the theme of 'dots, spots and circles'. You have to make an atc, a postcard, a tag and a 4 x 4 page.

Tag & Atc
I also made a tag and an atc using the same technique as the previous tags so I am entering these into this weeks Lotstodo challenge as the theme is embossing. This is my second entry but this time I've used heat embossing.

Distressed 4 x 4 Swap
Alison over on Lotstodo is hosting a 4 x 4 distressed / vintage swap. I chose to distress mine using the same technique as the tags below except this time I used Pearl Ex instead of the Silkies.

Playing Around
Have been playing around with my cuttlebug folders and my nesties (labels 8 set). This one is the script folder coloured with old paper distressed ink. I stamped the tickets with timber brown stazon and cut out. I added a scrunched ticket, a piece of hessian ribbon and a computer generated scroll. I sandwiched a piece of light weight hessian between the two identical nestie shapes and added ribbon to the top to hang with.
This one was done in exactly the same way, except I used the music scroll and black soot distressed ink.
And for this one I used the numbers folder and a couple of stamped images.
And finally for this one I used the flower folder. Coloured the heads with rusty hinge and the greenery with crushed olive distress inks. Added a couple of flowers with buttons and a quote made into a tag.
Thanks to an article in Stampers' Sampler for the inspiration.

These were created thanks to information from Joy (Lotstodo Forum) and inspiration from Sheena Douglass demonstrating on a C&C tv show yesterday which was re-run last night.
I went my own way with them as all I had that she was using was the black soot distressed ink pad!!! I inked adirondack wild plum and mustard coloured distressed ink onto a craft mat and spritzed with water. Using a paint brush I added in some of the chalky/paint highly pigmented with mica from the silkies I got in Harrogate (remember, the ones that look like nail varnish!!). I swooshed the tags in the mixture to get a background. Using black soot I stamped various images onto the tags (again purchased at Harrogate, the stamps, not the tags). I clear embossed certain images, including the hand and the bottom eye. I mixed a bit of blue perfect pearls with water to make a paste and coloured in the outer eye and part of the hand (the swirl and a finger). I roughed up the edges of the tag with a paper distresser and inked them with black soot. Added an eyelet and fibres. You might have to enlarge the picture to see it all in detail.
Thanks Joy and Sheena, really pleased with the way these have turned out so am entering them into this weeks Tuesday Taggers challenge.

Fun Day - Easter Sunday
I went to see Hilda on Easter Sunday and as you probably imagined, we got messy!!! Here is Hilda with green hands, I know green is my colour, but she beat me to it - lol!!!
She found a few things for us to do!!! This was a little box which I altered.
I stamped all 4 edges using, dream, hope, art and follow.
She had just taken stock of some mini bird houses, so we had a play with those too!!!
This was by far the best thing we played with, this is where Hilda's green hands came in. She did her suitcase green and by it was green but with a bit of distressing she toned it down so it looked shabby and tattered!!! I did mine brown and splodged some black on with kitchen roll, then I sanded the edges and used walnut stain and black soot distressed inks, added the label, some string and the prestuds.
