Fat Page Lottery Win - Green

Every month on the Lotstodo Forum there has been a fat page lottery draw, but Decembers is the last one. Basically the previous winner sets the theme and any forum member is free to join in if they wish. If you do, all names are put into a 'hat' and a winner is drawn and that person gets ALL that months fat pages. This month Hilda chose green. As this is my favourite colour I just had to join in and I won. I did feel very guilty about this as I've only entered 2 or 3 all year, but I'm assured it was all done fair and square. So I decided to make my winnings into a green BIA book.
I know a few people who have been lucky and got a BIA for Christmas. Just as a guide re the wires, there are 20 pages in this book, about 6 of them are mountboard and the rest thick card and I used a 1" wire to bind them.

Little Book of Techniques

I made this quick book today by covering a couple of pieces of thick card for the front and back covers. I've got an old wooden blind which Martin cut a couple of pieces off and drilled the holes, which I then covered in caramel and ginger alcohol inks. I used TH papers for the covers and each of the pages incorporates a different technique which has been demonstrated on the technique zone blog. The original bolts weren't long enough, so Martin had to go and find me some longer ones!!!

A Man Thing

Andrea on the Lotstodo Forum is hosting a 4 x 4 swap with a 'man' theme. You had to do one blue, one green and one of choice. Been as I'd just bought a roll of metal from Paper Paradise I thought I'd best make use of it by doing a bit of embossing using molds and stencils. I cut the middles out and put a picture in the brown one and a stamped image in the green one. I used caramel, latte and ginger alcohol inks on the brown one and lettuce and meadow on the green one, added ribbon and a button. I created the background for the blue one by using my roller in the denim adirondack ink, then I put some cloudy blue acrylic on my craft mat and put my roller through that too and transferred it onto the card. I then used a CI image and added a few blue buttons, hope it counts as the image is a statue, looks masculine though!!!!

Lotstodo Week 41 Challenge - Leaves or Trees

This week is the last Lotstodo Challenge which has been set by Hilda with the theme of leaves or trees. As you can see I chose to stamp a tree onto an atc. I created the background using a roller, inks and a perfect pearls and arabic gum mix, applied using a mini mister spray bottle. I then used various 'woody' colours, greens and browns and inked up my tree. This is the same image but the light was very different when I took the individual photos!!!!

A Few Atc's

This quote is very appropriate at the moment!!!!
Count the smiles........not the tears

This one might be entered into the CI comp. Used citrus and aqua acrylic dabbers to create the background. Used a PaperArtsy background stamp and stamped the CI flower image with cactus stazon. I then stamped another flower image using olive green stazon onto a white piece of paper. I used watercolour paints to colour the image. I cut some foam and stuck it to the image stamped on the atc on the flower head, the little bud half way down and the bottom 2 leaves. I then took an embossing tool and marked out the flower head, bud and leaves on my watercoloured image. I then stuck a piece of green ribbon across the atc. Lined my paper image up with the atc image and stuck it over the top. My flower head, bud and 2 leaves are now padded out. Obviously you can't see that from this image, but it's a really nice effect.

I used some dusty concord crackle paint then covered the whole piece with pearl acrylic dabber paint. I stamped the image with royal purple stazon. Covered a mini grungeboard crown and key with a thin layer of crackle paint. Used purple stickles to put the blobs on the top of the crown and glitz the key.

Created the background by covering with pearl acrylic dabber paint and swirled in the remains of the ink left from the tags . Image stamped with saddle brown stazon. Diamond glaze used for the gents hat and a star brad added bottom left.

A Few Tags

I created the background for this tag by inking a craft mat using my Nick Bantock inks, spraying water onto the ink and then putting my roller through the mess I'd created on the craft sheet, this was the result!!! I used the colours van dyke, damson plum and vermillion laquer. I used the Tim Holtz Carte Postale stamp with versamark, then added peeled paint distressed embossing powder. I used saddle and timber brown stazon to add the post mark images. I used the vermillion laquer ink pad with the journey stamp. I used diamond glaze on the word journey and added a mini grungeboard arrow which I coloured with timber brown stazon and attached with a brad. I added fibres to finish.

I created this background with the remains of what was left from the top one. I stamped some splodges on the background with Nick Bantock's van dyke ink pad. I used saddle brown stazon to stamp the main image. I added a flower image at the top of the tag and decorated one of the middles with a clear gem stone. I used my PaperArtsy frame stamps to stamp up the coffee stirrer with timber brown squares, attached it to the tag and added 3 further clear gem stones. Added fibres to finish.

I created this background by putting my flourish mask over the tag, sprayed it with walnut crystals and a metal mix to give it a bit of a shine. Removed the mask and swiped the whole of the tag with aged mahogany distressed ink. I then threw drops of water over the tag to create a watermark effect and gave it a blast with the heat tool. Then stamped 4 sets of flowers with walnut stain distressed ink down the right hand side. I then attached my main image which I had created ages ago on a 3 x 3 piece of card. Using stazon saddle brown, I stamped the veritas image and using vermillion laquer I stamped the quote 'nurture your dreams' bottom left. Added fibres to finish.

Lotstodo Week 39 Challenge - Music

Front
Back
Made a tag for this weeks challenge. Used my new Nick Bantock Damson Plum ink pad. Run the tag through the cuttlebug, used the music notes embossing folder, added a treble clef symbol. For the back I just swirled the ink pad direct to paper and stamped a few music notes with my CI music stamp using black stazon, which incidently Fraz pinched, chewed and is now in bits!!!

Tag

I picked up a bargain from PaperParadise in their sale. I got a set of stamps half price. There were 3 or 4 quotes and 4 words, I've used a couple on the tag. They are called the altered set but I can't remember who they were made by!!!! I also got another couple of Nick Bantock inks, damson plum (purple) and vermillion lacquer (red). They are really good, you use them in the same way as you would use the distressed inks as they stay wet for a while, but the colours are much richer, as you can see in the above background.

Lotstodo Week 37 Challenge - Canvas

This weeks challenge on Lotstodo was to create a canvas. As I already had a 4" x 6" half completed I decided it was about time I finished it off!!! I think the background is acrylic paints, yellow, orange and brown with some torn pages of a book strategically placed, not!! I stamped the image and the smile quote onto tissue paper with black stazon, applied mod podge to the canvas and placed the images on top and applied another coat. When dry I stamped various images onto the canvas with timber brown stazon. I also edged the canvas in the same ink.
