Textured Alcohol Inking
This is ok for a first attempt but I shall certainly be having another try as I think I need to apply more PVA at the final stage before applying the AI's.
Both pieces have masking tape, tissue paper, cellophane and netting in them to texture the card.
The AI's were splattered onto this piece which meant that the ink got inside the netting and on the cellophane. I dipped a pom-pom (which I had to make first) into blending solution to wash the colours together
I used the wooden applicator and the felt to apply the AI's to this piece. It was really hard to cover the netting and the gaps were much harder to get the ink into. For some reason, the ink would not take to the cellophane on this one
Adirondak Colour Layering
Got up early this morning and took Fraz to the woods. Of course, I had an ulteria motive, I needed some decent leaves!!! I carried out the same process as before but used less of the spray. I'm quite pleased with the results and at least this time, they do look like leaves!! Top set cranberry, middle, wild plum and bottom lettuce, all adirondak colour wash sprays.
These are the results after the alcohol inks and the blending solution have been applied. I am pleased with the first 4 but I don't think the green is a dark enough colour to start the background off. I started to use cranberry alcohol ink and quickly decided it was to dark. On the opposite side I tried the gold metalic but that didn't work either, so I switched to butterscotch for the remainder

Wall Hanging
Finally got my melt pot out again today. This is a wall hanging that I've made for a friend. Unfortunatley the two pieces appear to blend so you can't see the detail on the face and the rainbow effect of the perfect pearls on the back piece very clearly. But I'm happy with it and I hope she will be too

Saturday Workout - Spotlight
TGIF Challenge - Quotations
This weeks theme on TGIF is quotations. I created the background using orange adirondak paint from the dabbers. I painted it onto some bubble wrap and laid the painted side down on the card. I then used orange chalk to cover the white card. I stamped my Tim Holtz quote using pumpkin stazon, added a flower to top left and bottom right and a circle to each of the opposite corners
Created By Hand Challenge - Orange Skinny
This weeks Created by Hand Challenge was to create a skinny using only orange. I inked up the background with spiced marmalade and dried marigold distressed inks, threw some water over it and dried it off with kitchen roll. Stamped my main image in pumpkin stazon, masked it off and added the flourishes on the left and the music notes on the right

A Few Challenges in One
This piece covers 3 blog challenges this week. The challenge on Crazy Amigo's was Old Timer. The challenge set on Saturday's Workout was Raster Screen and finally Dymo Labeler on 4 x 4 Friday - I am quite pleased with all the elements and how they have come together.
I tore strips of masking tape and stuck them over the white card. I then chalked the whole piece in a couple of shades of orange and peeled the masking tape off to reveal the white lines. I stamped the image onto a separate piece of card using timber brown stazon and chalked the image with a different shade of orange. I positioned it on the 4x4, added some scratch lines with the TH stamp and inked the edges all in timber brown stazon. I then used my dymo labeler to make the words the good old days and stamped them out onto orange tape.
