Triple Art Fusion Workshop organised by Sue Tucker, held at Magna Village Hall, Great Hale, Heckington, Sleaford. 25 and 26 January 2025, with Olga, Anna and Nuneka.
We each got an excellent goodie bag to kick off the workshops.
This was our first project introduced by Olga. Anna is walking around the room with it showing each table.
Apparently the boxes weren't delivered on time, so Sam K came up trumps with these boxes that we self assembled. I really don't know how these two unfortunates came to be placed on our table, but they did. Say hello to Caroline and Georgina.
Jules wiping the glue from her box and Olga giving us an explanation of the next steps.
Table next to us, Eileen getting stuck in, stood up to assemble her box.
Anna back at our table with the sample.
Janet in full concentration.

So after priming the box, we ripped up script papers and images. Janet kindly swapped her beetles for my butterflies. We also added a random piece of lace.
Next we used the elements to create a layout. Olga had kindly made them from black resin so we didn't have to paint anything.
Jules and Nanette painting their boxes.
After adding colour and waxes, this is what I ended up with. Love it.
The afternoon session was a class with Anna. Here she is explaining what we will be making.
Anna showing us the first few steps to get us going.
Jules and Nunu and Janet in the background, all whilst Anna was giving us tuition - how rude!!!
We prepped the background with soft gel through a stencil and once dry started to compile a layout.
We used gilding flakes on the main image. Janet just prepping for it.
And Caroline's favourite part of the day - using gilding flakes - lol.
Then we started to stick the elements down.
Country View Crafts shop at the back with Sue Seabert.
And the other side, shop of Samantha K, selling mainly mdf and rice papers. Had to have a little purchase from both of them.
Once everything was stuck down we painted it all with black gesso.
This is Janets construction painted with gesso.
I 'painted' everything with aged brass wax, this brought out the stencilling. However, I purposely wanted to keep a black border. Then I added patina blue matte wax to the outside of some of the elements. We also used the rust paste in a few areas.
Anna came round and suggested that I did something else to tie the metallic flakes in.
DAY 2
Today it was Nunekas turn to start us off.
As you can see, she had everyone's full attention.
Back to our tables to do our fussy cutting and backgrounds.
We stuck papers to the substrate and cardboard, added some stenciling in a gold ish colour to the bottom layer and soft gel to the tag layer.
Nanette and Jules distressing the base layer.
Georgina and Caroline fussy cutting.
Nunu prepping for the next steps.
The other side of the room playing catch up.
The back of Sylv and Sam from Samantha K.
Next we had to compile a layout and then stick it from top to bottom. I had an issue with this and had to stick them from bottom to top as I was going along, so I did.
By this time I'd got an absolutely banging migraine so only managed to take a couple of photos in the last session with Anna.
Tissue papers on the canvas, then stencilled over with soft gel, created a layout using clusters. We used mica powders mixed with fluid medium to create a paint. Added the colours and sprayed water to let it run and drip, dried and did it again. Then added the darker colour.
Finally added the wings and the image and white pearl wax to make it pop.
Just to prove I was actually there.
