Peeled Paint

Over on the PA blog Liesbeth Fidder is back with a peeled paint technique which you can see here. It's quite ironic really as I've just watched an Andy Skinner video and he uses Vaseline as a resist too.

I had to move inside to get a photo of the bottom dangly piece as they were blowing about in the wind!!

Queen of Hearts

Using an mdf heart I carried out the same techniques as in the previous posts, except this time I didn't stamp any images until the end. I started off with green, second layer was blue, third purple and lastly vanilla.

Dotty Tag

Over on the PA blog Darcy is back with her journalling pages. As you know I don't do journalling so I took some of her techniques and tried them out on a tag.

Canvas

Used the first two of Andy Skinners layered techniques from the video in the previous post and decided to leave it at that.

Layered backgrounds

I watched this Andy Skinner mixed media background video and loved it, so just had to have a go, although I have none of the products he used, so had to improvise lots and lots!! All are fresco paints apart from the magenta which is a golden product, and surgical spirits and vaseline!!

Final product. Next time I will use a thicker card and a bolder centre image.

Another Masterboard

Background is brayered with various PA fresco paints, stencilled with south pacific and covered with snowflake as it was a bit bright!! EV sketchy rectangle stamped over the top in blaze red stazon.

Hero Arts images randomly stamped with black archival and white pen doodling.

Finally splatted with Dylusions white spray paint.

Close up of the splats.

Pen & Ink Tag

Over on the PA blog, Kate is back with a journal page. As you all know by now, I don't do journal pages, so I used some of the techniques on a tag.

Splats of white Dylusions paint flicked all over.

Dreaming of Summer

Over at FSC they have a theme of dreaming of summer. I simply stamped the Stampotique shrooms with black archival over the left over piece of alcohol inked card, masked them off and stamped the TH grunge butterfly over the top. The background is a piece of foam wrapped in a piece of silver sticky tape run through an embossing folder, painted and sanded back. Unfortunately I've covered most of it up!!

Graffiti Clock

You might recognise my clock face, I robbed it off something I'd previously made!!! Background is an embossed texture fade coloured with alcohol inks. The blue frame is the negative of the postage die cut. Pen is a stamped image from a LP set and the word is from a Hero Arts set.

Oriental Tag Trio

Over at Tag Along they are asking to see bright sunny colours this week. I happened to have a lovely gelli print in reds, oranges, and yellows. I cut size #8 tags out and managed to get 3 out of the page.

Stamped all the oriental images in archival and mounted them onto a piece of scored black card. The rain stopped and sun came out so I was able to get a photo outside.

Inspire

Over on the PA blog Jo is back with her CAS cards using kraft card and little black dress fresco.  So dead simple, took a kraft tag, stamped images in little black dress fresco paint, outlined in white posca pen, and that's it!!!

Summer of Colour - Week 6

Week 6 of Summer of colour and the colour scheme is raspberry, tangerine and splash of lemon.

I decided on a box and alcohol inks.

The lemon is fresco paint in the colour haystack which was painted onto the background to create the border.

Raspberry and sunset orange alcohol inks on glossy card using TH distress marker spritzer tool for the panels.

LP images stamped in black stazon.

The top image is a PA wooden stamp.

I used 4 wooden beads for the feet which I painted black.

Simon Says Monday's challenge this week is about a face.

Exhibit A

Started off with a piece of corrugated, exposed all the edges. Added a couple of different pieces of gelli plate prints. TH die cuts, pocket watch, picture wheel and tiny tabs.  Wheel and tab was covered in a mix of peeled paint and weathered wood distress embossing powder.

Close up of the embossed picture wheel and gelli plate print.

Added film strip ribbon and a metal clock face.

And a couple more idea-ology pieces.

Remember

Over on the PA blog Lin Brown was back with a journal using stencils and acetate. I used a piece of corrugated instead and stamped Ellen Vargo circles over the top using snowflake.

I used all the special edition paints in Lin's PA Range. I also flicked on some white dylusions spray paint.

Using stazon ink I stamped random Sara Naumman images onto a piece of acetate.

Close up of the acetate sheet over the stencilled background.

Close up of the arch and the stencilling where the isn't any acetate.

The completed piece with wooden and metal embellishments added, TH frameworks die cut and the word is from a Clarity stamp strip.

Triple Frame Hanging

After I returned from the AS weekend, using the products I already had, I tried to recreate the grit effect on this trio of circle frames.

I gave them all a coat of white gesso, and mixed equal amounts of matte medium and coarse pumice gel by Golden and applied to the outsides of each of the frames.

I stamped some LP oriental images onto a piece of card that I'd previously coloured with alcohol inks.

I die cut all the images with a spellbinders nesties circle die.

Unfortunately they were still too big and I had to cut them down further.

Painted the frames in little black dress and hi-lighted with treasure gold.

Finished piece hanging from the light fitting!!
