Distressed Embossing

I've been playing with my new fancy corners, cuttlebug embossing folders. The image was embossed at random over a piece of card and then swpied over with a distressed ink pad. This obviously picked up the raised pieces, and I did the same on the reverse (bottom picture). I then added a few more colours and scrunched the card up, flattened it back out again and swiped the ink pad across again, this time the colours picked up on some of the creases too. I used a piece of 'cut n dry' and my stipple brush to get in all the little gaps. It's my mums birthday in May and she loves flowers, so I may incorporate this top piece into a card for her

Thanks to Sue at Paper Paradise for the technique info and also to Glenda Waterworth of Elusive Images & Graphicus for sharing on her blog (post dated 02 March)

This one was done exactly the same way, but I didn't use as many different colours. Due to the wetness of the ink, it tore in places, I quite like the effects.

Embossed Christmas Cards

My mate Mags on the Lotstodo Forum, thinks I'm crackers. I made some Christmas cards yesterday because I'd ordered some embossing folders for my Cuttlebug from Sue at Paper Paradise and of course, I had to have a play with them. The embossed pieces have been cut out and have been matted and layered. Very simple and basic. They will be sent to the people who don't really appreciate my handmade cards. For a first attempt, I was pleased with them!! I used pearlescent card, cream and silver

I've Started!!!!

I received this little lot in the post today from my mate LazyKay. She has made me a little notebook to keep a log of my miles, a stunning card made from metal and coloured with alcohol inks and a fab key ring of Fraz made with UTEE which is already housing my desk drawer key.

I officially started yesterday, and it was all a bit hectic to tell you the truth, but as I get more into it I'm sure it'll be fine

Stamping Fat Pages Swap

Managed to make 10 of my 22 fat pages today, so only another 10 more to go, as I'm also using the 2 with tags on from the previous post

Lotstodo Week 4 Challenge

This weeks challenge on Lotstodo Forum was 'Tag It'. So I made 3 atc's as I am hosting an atc swap entitled 'incorporate a tag' on the UkStampers Forum and I am also involved in a fat page swap which is entitled 'rubber stamping' on the Lotstodo Forum. I have 22 pages to do, so I have encompassed tags onto all of the above so that they can be used elsewhere!!! Distressed inks have been used for all of the backgrounds apart from the middle atc, alcohol inks were used with blending solution and a water brush pen. The stamps are from a Paperartsy - US Stagelights Set

Round the World - Tortuga

This month on Lotstodo around the world trip, we are off to TORTUGA - apparently it has something to do with The Pirates of the Caribbean. The swap is for a tag, an atc and a fat page. All pieces have been covered with pirate paper which I picked up from Paper Paradise and the stickers are from the Dollar shop in Canada!!!!

Paper Paradise Layout Challenge

This is a layout for a challenge on Paper Paradise Forum. It's a 12 x 12 page of Frazzie in his younger days last summer with his frisbee. The journalling under the Frazzie just says 12 August 2007 which is the date the picture was taken

Just to let everyone know, if you didn't know already, I had an interview this morning for an NVQ Assessor of Business & Administration at the Council. They phoned me this afternoon to offer me the job, which I accepted. At present haven't got any more details than that. But I would just like to thank everyone for their support and encouragement xxxx
